Lithium nickel oxide(Li_(2)NiO_(2)),as a sacrificial cathode prelithiation additive,has been used to compensate for the lithium loss for improving the lifespan of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).However,high-cost Li_(2)Ni...Lithium nickel oxide(Li_(2)NiO_(2)),as a sacrificial cathode prelithiation additive,has been used to compensate for the lithium loss for improving the lifespan of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).However,high-cost Li_(2)NiO_(2)suffers from inferior delithiation kinetics during the first cycle.Herein,we investigated the effects of the cost-effective copper substituted Li_(2)Ni_(1-x)Cu_(x)O_(2)(x=0,0.2,0.3,0.5,0.7)synthesized by a high-temperature solid-phase method on the structure,morphology,electrochemical performance of graphite‖LiFePO_(4)battery.The X-ray diffraction(XRD)refinement result demonstrated that Cu substitution strategy could be favorable for eliminating the NiO_(x)impurity phase and weakening Li-O bond.Analysis on density of states(DOS)indicates that Cu substitution is good for enhancing the electronic conductivity,as well as reducing the delithi-ation voltage polarization confirmed by electrochemical characterizations.Therefore,the optimal Li_(2)Ni_(0.7)Cu_(0.3)O_(2)delivered a high delithiation capacity of 437 mAh·g^(-1),around 8%above that of the pristine Li_(2)NiO_(2).Furthermore,a graphite‖LiFePO_(4)pouch cell with a nominal capacity of 3000 mAh demonstrated a notably improved reversible capacity,energy density and cycle life through introducing 2 wt%Li_(2)Ni_(0.7)Cu_(0.3)O_(2)additive,delivering a 6.2 mAh·g^(-1)higher initial discharge capacity and achieving around 5%improvement in capacity retentnion at 0.5P over 1000 cycles.Additionally,the post-mortem analyses testified that the Li_(2)Ni_(0.7)Cu_(0.3)O_(2)additive could suppress solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)decomposition and homogenize the Li distribution,which benefits to stabilizing interface between graphite and electrolyte,and alleviating dendritic Li plating.In conclusion,the Li_(2)Ni_(0.7)Cu_(0.3)O_(2)additive may offer advantages such as lower cost,lower delithiation voltage and higher prelithiation capacity compared with Li_(2)NiO_(2),making it a promising candidate of cathode prelithiation additive for next-generation LIBs.展开更多

Background The effectiveness of life skills-based prevention programs to prevent substance addiction has been underexplored in Türkiye,likely in part due to the lack of validated measurement tools developed speci...Background The effectiveness of life skills-based prevention programs to prevent substance addiction has been underexplored in Türkiye,likely in part due to the lack of validated measurement tools developed specifically for that purpose.Therefore,the aim of this study is to develop a tool to measure life skills for middle school students.The present study aims to test the factorial structure,reliability,convergent and discriminant validity,and measurement invariance across gender and age groups of the Green Crescent Life Skills(GCLS)Scale.Methods The study was conducted in Istanbul with two different sample groups.The first sample consisted of 566 and the second sample consisted of 885 middle school students.In the study,exploratory factor analysis(EFA)was applied to the first sample,and confirmatory factor analysis(CFA)was applied to the second sample to test the factorial structure of the scale.Convergent and discriminant validity were examined to provide evidence for construct-based validity.The reliability of the scale was assessed with Cronbach’sα,composite reliability,McDonald’sω,and test-retest.Results The EFA results showed that the scale consisted of four factors(self-awareness,coping with negative emotions,thinking skills,and peer relations).CFA results also confirmed this structure.The results revealed a significant positive correlation(r=0.52,p<0.01)between life skills and avoidance self-efficacy scores,as well as a significant negative correlation(r=−0.53,p<0.01)between life skills and attitude toward drug use scores.Additionally,it was found that measurement invariances based on gender and age groups were provided.It was determined that all sub-dimensions had sufficient reliability levels.Conclusion The findings of this validation study show that the GCLS Scale,which assesses four skills in a self-reported format,is a valid and reliable scale with considerable potential utility in monitoring life skills in Turkish adolescent populations.展开更多

BACKGROUND Cardiovascular health(CVH)plays a crucial role in overall health,but its association with metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)remains unclear.AIM To investigate the relationship between CVH,measu...BACKGROUND Cardiovascular health(CVH)plays a crucial role in overall health,but its association with metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)remains unclear.AIM To investigate the relationship between CVH,measured using Life’s Essential 8(LE8)and Life’s Simple 7(LS7),and the prevalence of MAFLD.METHODS This cross-sectional study had a sample of 2234 individuals,representing approximately 120 million individuals in the United States.Baseline parameters were compared between the LE8 and LS7 groups.Logistic regression models were used to evaluate the relationship between LE8,LS7,and MAFLD,while taking into account confounding factors.The investigation employed restricted cubic splines to investigate non-linear associations.Subgroup analyses and sensitivity studies were performed to evaluate the strength and reliability of the results.RESULTS Higher LE8 and LS7 scores were significantly associated with a decreased risk of MAFLD,even after controlling for demographic,socioeconomic,and clinical variables.This association demonstrated a non-linear pattern,with the most dramatic risk reduction observed at higher CVH levels.Individual CVH components,notably healthy behaviors and factors,exhibited strong relationships with MAFLD.Subgroup analyses indicated consistent relationships across several demographics.Sensitivity tests utilizing other MAFLD definitions validated the robustness of the findings.CONCLUSION Higher adherence to CVH criteria,as indicated by LE8 and LS7 scores,is associated with a significantly lower risk of MAFLD.These results emphasize the need to advance CVH to control and avoid MAFLD.展开更多
Additive manufactured titanium alloys exhibit distinct microstructures and internal defects compared to forged alloys.This has a significant impact on its fatigue failure behavior and fatigue life distribution.Fatigue...Additive manufactured titanium alloys exhibit distinct microstructures and internal defects compared to forged alloys.This has a significant impact on its fatigue failure behavior and fatigue life distribution.Fatigue life dispersity and distribution characteristics of laser direct energy deposited Ti-6.5Al-3.5Mo-1.5Zr-0.3Si alloy were investigated by a relatively large sample fatigue test,fracture morphology characterization,and statistical analytic method.Then,the intrinsic causes of fatigue life dispersity and distribution characteristics were clarified by correlating with fatigue failure origin modes(FFOMs).The test and analysis results indicate that the existence of internal pores significantly influences FFOMs,fatigue life dispersity,and distribution pattern.The FFOMs of microstructure and interior pores have little effect on fatigue life dispersion,In contrast,FFOMs of surface and subsurface pores present a relatively lower fatigue life and are responsible for fatigue life dispersion.Besides,two competitive effects of FFOMs with different applied stress highly affect fatigue life distribution.A bimodal Weibull model is more suitable for describing fatigue life distribution with multiple FFOMs.However,if there is no fast-computing procedure for the parameter estimation of the Bimodal Weibull model,relatively conservative and simple P-S-N curves based on the Weibull distribution model are recommended in engineering applications.展开更多
How do individuals adjust their savings and consumption behaviors in response to the combined effects of increased life expectancy and declining pension replacement rates?This study constructs a life-cycle model,using...How do individuals adjust their savings and consumption behaviors in response to the combined effects of increased life expectancy and declining pension replacement rates?This study constructs a life-cycle model,using changes in conditional survival probabilities as a proxy for shifts in individual life expectancy,to examine consumption behavior under the dual backdrop of prolonged longevity and a gradual decline in pension replacement rates.The results suggest that changes in life expectancy and pension replacement rates together explain 8.9%to 10.2%of the observed decline in consumption in recent years,with both variables playing equally significant explanatory roles.Furthermore,we find that,to fully offset the negative impact of increased life expectancy on consumption,the pension replacement rate must reach at least 82%.These findings offer theoretical and policy implications for improving the quality of life in later years among enterprise employees in the context of population aging.展开更多
China is the most important steel producer in the world,and its steel industry is one of themost carbon-intensive industries in China.Consequently,research on carbon emissions from the steel industry is crucial for Ch...China is the most important steel producer in the world,and its steel industry is one of themost carbon-intensive industries in China.Consequently,research on carbon emissions from the steel industry is crucial for China to achieve carbon neutrality and meet its sustainable global development goals.We constructed a carbon dioxide(CO_(2))emission model for China’s iron and steel industry froma life cycle perspective,conducted an empirical analysis based on data from2019,and calculated the CO_(2)emissions of the industry throughout its life cycle.Key emission reduction factors were identified using sensitivity analysis.The results demonstrated that the CO_(2)emission intensity of the steel industry was 2.33 ton CO_(2)/ton,and the production and manufacturing stages were the main sources of CO_(2)emissions,accounting for 89.84%of the total steel life-cycle emissions.Notably,fossil fuel combustion had the highest sensitivity to steel CO_(2)emissions,with a sensitivity coefficient of 0.68,reducing the amount of fossil fuel combustion by 20%and carbon emissions by 13.60%.The sensitivities of power structure optimization and scrap consumption were similar,while that of the transportation structure adjustment was the lowest,with a sensitivity coefficient of less than 0.1.Given the current strategic goals of peak carbon and carbon neutrality,it is in the best interest of the Chinese government to actively promote energy-saving and low-carbon technologies,increase the ratio of scrap steel to steelmaking,and build a new power system.展开更多
BACKGROUND Resilience is an individual’s ability and psychological rebound capacity to adapt well after experiencing adversity,trauma,etc.Patients with strong resilience can face illnesses actively.AIM To determine t...BACKGROUND Resilience is an individual’s ability and psychological rebound capacity to adapt well after experiencing adversity,trauma,etc.Patients with strong resilience can face illnesses actively.AIM To determine the association of resilience with coping styles and quality of life in patients with malignancies.METHODS This study included patients with malignant tumors who were hospitalized at Fuyang Hospital Affiliated to Anhui Medical University from March 2022 to March 2024.The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale,Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire,Social Support Rating Scale,and the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30 were utilized to assess patients’resilience,coping styles,social support,and quality of life,respectively.Pearson correlation analysis was conducted to assess the correlations.RESULTS A total of 175 patients with malignant tumors demonstrated no marked difference in terms of age,education level,employment status,monthly household income,and disease staging(P<0.05).Further,patients with malignancies demonstrated scores of 17.49±1.20,17.27±1.46,and 11.19±1.29 points in terms of coping styles in confrontation,avoidance,and resignation dimensions,respectively.Subjective support,objective support,and support utilization scores in terms of social support were 10.67±1.80,11.26±2.08,and 9.24±1.14 points,respectively.The total resilience score and tenacity,self-improvement,and optimism dimension scores were positively correlatedwith the confrontation coping style score,whereas the total resilience score and tenacity and self-improvementscores were negatively associated with avoidance and resignation coping style scores(P<0.05).The total resiliencescore and the tenacity dimension score were positively associated with physical,role,cognitive,emotional,andsocial functions,as well as global health status(P<0.05),and were inversely related to fatigue,insomnia,andeconomic difficulties(P<0.05).CONCLUSIONThe resilience of patients with malignancies is positively associated with the confrontation dimension in the copingstyle,the total and various social support domain scores,and the overall quality of life.Clinical medical staff needto pay attention to the effect of medical coping styles and social support on the resilience level of patients withmalignancies to further improve their quality of life.展开更多
Studies on plant diversity are usually based on the total number of species in a community.However,few studies have examined species richness(SR)of different plant life forms in a community along largescale environmen...Studies on plant diversity are usually based on the total number of species in a community.However,few studies have examined species richness(SR)of different plant life forms in a community along largescale environmental gradients.Particularly,the relative importance(RIV)of different plant life forms in a community and how they vary with environmental variables are still unclear.To fill these gaps,we determined plant diversity of ephemeral plants,annual herbs,perennial herbs,and woody plants from 187 sites across drylands in China.The SR patterns of herbaceous plants,especially perennial herbs,and their RIV in plant communities increased with increasing precipitation and soil nutrient content;however,the RIV of annual herbs was not altered along these gradients.The SR and RIV of ephemeral plants were affected mainly by precipitation seasonality.The SR of woody plants had a unimodal relationship with air temperature and exhibited the highest RIV and SR percentage in plant communities under the harshest environments.An obvious shift emerged in plant community composition,SR and their critical impact factors at 238.5 mm of mean annual precipitation(MAP).In mesic regions(>238.5 mm),herbs were the dominant species,and the SR displayed a relatively slow decreasing rate with increasing aridity,which was mediated mainly by MAP and soil nutrients.In arid regions(<238.5 mm),woody plants were the dominant species,and the SR displayed a relatively fast decreasing rate with increasing aridity,which was mediated mainly by climate variables,especially precipitation.Our findings highlight the importance of comparative life form studies in community structure and biodiversity,as their responses to gradients differed substantially on a large scale.展开更多
Accurate prediction of the remaining useful life(RUL)is crucial for the design and management of lithium-ion batteries.Although various machine learning models offer promising predictions,one critical but often overlo...Accurate prediction of the remaining useful life(RUL)is crucial for the design and management of lithium-ion batteries.Although various machine learning models offer promising predictions,one critical but often overlooked challenge is their demand for considerable run-to-failure data for training.Collection of such training data leads to prohibitive testing efforts as the run-to-failure tests can last for years.Here,we propose a semi-supervised representation learning method to enhance prediction accuracy by learning from data without RUL labels.Our approach builds on a sophisticated deep neural network that comprises an encoder and three decoder heads to extract time-dependent representation features from short-term battery operating data regardless of the existence of RUL labels.The approach is validated using three datasets collected from 34 batteries operating under various conditions,encompassing over 19,900 charge and discharge cycles.Our method achieves a root mean squared error(RMSE)within 25 cycles,even when only 1/50 of the training dataset is labelled,representing a reduction of 48%compared to the conventional approach.We also demonstrate the method's robustness with varying numbers of labelled data and different weights assigned to the three decoder heads.The projection of extracted features in low space reveals that our method effectively learns degradation features from unlabelled data.Our approach highlights the promise of utilising semi-supervised learning to reduce the data demand for reliability monitoring of energy devices.展开更多
Permeable roads generally exhibit inferior mechanical properties and shorter service life than traditional dense-graded/impermeable roads.Furthermore,the incorporation of recycled aggregates in their construction may ...Permeable roads generally exhibit inferior mechanical properties and shorter service life than traditional dense-graded/impermeable roads.Furthermore,the incorporation of recycled aggregates in their construction may exacerbate these limitations.To address these issues,this study introduced a novel cement-stabilized permeable recycled aggregate material.A total of 162 beam specimens prepared with nine different levels of cement-aggregate ratio were tested to evaluate their permeability,bending load,and bending fatigue life.The experimental results indicate that increasing the content of recycled aggregates led to a reduction in both permeability and bending load.Additionally,the inclusion of recycled aggregates diminished the energy dissipation capacity of the specimens.These findings were used to establish a robust relationship between the initial damage in cement-stabilized permeable recycled aggregate material specimens and their fatigue life,and to propose a predictive model for their fatigue performance.Further,a method for assessing fatigue damage based on the evolution of fatigue-induced strain and energy dissipation was developed.The findings of this study provide valuable insights into the mechanical behavior and fatigue performance of cement-stabilized permeable recycled aggregate materials,offering guidance for the design of low-carbon-emission,permeable,and durable roadways incorporating recycled aggregates.展开更多

This study aims to assess long-term complications, treatment patterns, and QoL of diabetic patients during COVID-19. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 385 diabetic patients (aged 18-80) from tertiary hospitals in Dhaka and Mymensingh between May and October 2022. Data were collected via a semi-structured questionnaire on sociodemographics, complications, treatment patterns, and QoL (SF-12 scale). Chi-square tests, ANOVA, and linear regression were used for inferential analysis. Results: The sample predominantly included middle-aged males (41 - 55 years) with type 2 diabetes. Diabetic retinopathy (34.5%), polyneuropathy (32.2%), and hypertension (52.3%) were the most common complications. Oral medications were used by 59.7% of patients, with 29.1% on insulin. Chi-square analysis showed a significant association between treatment adherence and complications (p β = 0.45, p Conclusion: Complications in diabetic patients significantly affect QoL in Bangladesh. Treatment adherence, especially with oral medications, positively impacts QoL. Preserving quality of life remains one of the main challenges. Objective: To evaluate the quality of life of patients with low back pain seen in rheumatology consultations at Brazzaville University Hospital. Patients and Method: Cross-sectional, analytical study with control group, conducted at the Brazzaville University Hospital, from January 2 to September 30, 2023. Patients over 30 years of age, seen for documented common low-back pain, were included. Study variables were epidemiological, clinical and functional. The EIFEL and SF-36 scores were used to assess functional impact and quality of life, respectively. Results: We included 96 people divided into two groups: 48 patients with low back pain and 48 controls. The frequency of common low-back pain was 12.8%. The mean age of patients with low back pain was 59.14 ± 11.86 years. Women predominated (sex ratio 0.3). Degenerative disc disease was the main etiology. Common low-back pain had a moderate impact on functional abilities, with a mean EIFEL score of 11 +/− 5.51. Quality of life was impaired in patients with low back pain (overall SF-36 at 43.95%) compared with the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P Conclusion: Common low back pain affects patients’ overall quality of life, particularly in terms of physical pain and limitations due to physical condition.展开更多
文摘High-rise housing is being built in increasingly densely populated urban residential areas in Tokyo,Japan.On the other hand,detached houses are built on small,subdivided sites.In urban residential areas where detached houses are lined up,many elements related to daily life are located near roadside space and spill out onto the road.This is a distinctive modern urban residential landscape.The purpose of this study is to get closer to the reality of urban residential life.For that,we will consider the characteristics and roles of elements related to daily life that can be observed in many areas around roadside space in an urban residential area lined with detached houses,in urban living environments.This study focuses on the detached residential area of Bunkyo Ward.A field survey will be conducted to investigate the amount of elements related to daily life that can be observed from the road.In addition,we will conduct a questionnaire survey of residents in the survey area regarding their use of and awareness of the roadside space.Finally,we will investigate the relationship between lifestyle factors and urban residential life from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives.

文摘Lithium nickel oxide(Li_(2)NiO_(2)),as a sacrificial cathode prelithiation additive,has been used to compensate for the lithium loss for improving the lifespan of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).However,high-cost Li_(2)NiO_(2)suffers from inferior delithiation kinetics during the first cycle.Herein,we investigated the effects of the cost-effective copper substituted Li_(2)Ni_(1-x)Cu_(x)O_(2)(x=0,0.2,0.3,0.5,0.7)synthesized by a high-temperature solid-phase method on the structure,morphology,electrochemical performance of graphite‖LiFePO_(4)battery.The X-ray diffraction(XRD)refinement result demonstrated that Cu substitution strategy could be favorable for eliminating the NiO_(x)impurity phase and weakening Li-O bond.Analysis on density of states(DOS)indicates that Cu substitution is good for enhancing the electronic conductivity,as well as reducing the delithi-ation voltage polarization confirmed by electrochemical characterizations.Therefore,the optimal Li_(2)Ni_(0.7)Cu_(0.3)O_(2)delivered a high delithiation capacity of 437 mAh·g^(-1),around 8%above that of the pristine Li_(2)NiO_(2).Furthermore,a graphite‖LiFePO_(4)pouch cell with a nominal capacity of 3000 mAh demonstrated a notably improved reversible capacity,energy density and cycle life through introducing 2 wt%Li_(2)Ni_(0.7)Cu_(0.3)O_(2)additive,delivering a 6.2 mAh·g^(-1)higher initial discharge capacity and achieving around 5%improvement in capacity retentnion at 0.5P over 1000 cycles.Additionally,the post-mortem analyses testified that the Li_(2)Ni_(0.7)Cu_(0.3)O_(2)additive could suppress solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)decomposition and homogenize the Li distribution,which benefits to stabilizing interface between graphite and electrolyte,and alleviating dendritic Li plating.In conclusion,the Li_(2)Ni_(0.7)Cu_(0.3)O_(2)additive may offer advantages such as lower cost,lower delithiation voltage and higher prelithiation capacity compared with Li_(2)NiO_(2),making it a promising candidate of cathode prelithiation additive for next-generation LIBs.
文摘With the increasingly serious environmental problems,the use of sustainable materials is particularly important.This study focuses on the greenhouse gas emissions and economic costs of wood over its life cycle as a sustainable resource.We use a systematic life cycle assessment(LCA)approach to assess the entire process from raw material collection,processing,use to disposal.The study found that using wood can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional building materials such as steel and concrete.In addition,although the initial procurement costs of wood may be higher,its maintenance costs are lower in the long run,making the life cycle costs generally more economical.The results of this study highlight the environmental and economic advantages of wood in the selection of sustainable building materials,and provide a scientific basis for promoting the use of wood.

文摘Background The effectiveness of life skills-based prevention programs to prevent substance addiction has been underexplored in Türkiye,likely in part due to the lack of validated measurement tools developed specifically for that purpose.Therefore,the aim of this study is to develop a tool to measure life skills for middle school students.The present study aims to test the factorial structure,reliability,convergent and discriminant validity,and measurement invariance across gender and age groups of the Green Crescent Life Skills(GCLS)Scale.Methods The study was conducted in Istanbul with two different sample groups.The first sample consisted of 566 and the second sample consisted of 885 middle school students.In the study,exploratory factor analysis(EFA)was applied to the first sample,and confirmatory factor analysis(CFA)was applied to the second sample to test the factorial structure of the scale.Convergent and discriminant validity were examined to provide evidence for construct-based validity.The reliability of the scale was assessed with Cronbach’sα,composite reliability,McDonald’sω,and test-retest.Results The EFA results showed that the scale consisted of four factors(self-awareness,coping with negative emotions,thinking skills,and peer relations).CFA results also confirmed this structure.The results revealed a significant positive correlation(r=0.52,p<0.01)between life skills and avoidance self-efficacy scores,as well as a significant negative correlation(r=−0.53,p<0.01)between life skills and attitude toward drug use scores.Additionally,it was found that measurement invariances based on gender and age groups were provided.It was determined that all sub-dimensions had sufficient reliability levels.Conclusion The findings of this validation study show that the GCLS Scale,which assesses four skills in a self-reported format,is a valid and reliable scale with considerable potential utility in monitoring life skills in Turkish adolescent populations.
文摘Food breakdown during storage and transit greatly adds to worldwide food waste.Biodegradable edible coatings derived from natural sources provide a sustainable method to extend the shelf life and preserve the freshness of fresh fruit.This study explores the potential of the readily available and nutrient-rich seaweed,Caulerpa lentillifera,as a base material for edible coatings that can enhance the shelf life and maintain the physicochemical properties of fruits and vegetables.Caulerpa lentillifera,a marine macroalga renowned for its unique biochemical composition,presents a promising avenue for developing sustainable bio-coatings to improve the post-harvest quality of fresh produce.Biodegradable edible coatings derived from natural sources provide a sustainable method to extend the shelf life and preserve the freshness of fresh fruit.This study is aimed at exploring the potential of Caulerpa lentillifera,a nutrient-dense green seaweed,as a foundational material for creating edible coatings to enhance the post-harvest quality of fruits and vegetables.Various Caulerpa lentillifera-derived coating formulations were developed and applied to specific fruits and vegetables.The coated samples were maintained under controlled conditions and assessed for alterations in physicochemical parameters,including weight loss,hardness,colour,and microbial proliferation.The optimised coating formulation markedly diminished weight loss,postponed ripening,and maintained firmness and colour relative to uncoated controls.The coating demonstrated promising antibacterial properties,aiding in the extension of shelf life.Coatings derived from Caulerpa lentillifera offer a viable,environmentally sustainable alternative to synthetic preservatives,facilitating the advancement of sustainable food preservation technology.

文摘BACKGROUND Cardiovascular health(CVH)plays a crucial role in overall health,but its association with metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)remains unclear.AIM To investigate the relationship between CVH,measured using Life’s Essential 8(LE8)and Life’s Simple 7(LS7),and the prevalence of MAFLD.METHODS This cross-sectional study had a sample of 2234 individuals,representing approximately 120 million individuals in the United States.Baseline parameters were compared between the LE8 and LS7 groups.Logistic regression models were used to evaluate the relationship between LE8,LS7,and MAFLD,while taking into account confounding factors.The investigation employed restricted cubic splines to investigate non-linear associations.Subgroup analyses and sensitivity studies were performed to evaluate the strength and reliability of the results.RESULTS Higher LE8 and LS7 scores were significantly associated with a decreased risk of MAFLD,even after controlling for demographic,socioeconomic,and clinical variables.This association demonstrated a non-linear pattern,with the most dramatic risk reduction observed at higher CVH levels.Individual CVH components,notably healthy behaviors and factors,exhibited strong relationships with MAFLD.Subgroup analyses indicated consistent relationships across several demographics.Sensitivity tests utilizing other MAFLD definitions validated the robustness of the findings.CONCLUSION Higher adherence to CVH criteria,as indicated by LE8 and LS7 scores,is associated with a significantly lower risk of MAFLD.These results emphasize the need to advance CVH to control and avoid MAFLD.

文摘Additive manufactured titanium alloys exhibit distinct microstructures and internal defects compared to forged alloys.This has a significant impact on its fatigue failure behavior and fatigue life distribution.Fatigue life dispersity and distribution characteristics of laser direct energy deposited Ti-6.5Al-3.5Mo-1.5Zr-0.3Si alloy were investigated by a relatively large sample fatigue test,fracture morphology characterization,and statistical analytic method.Then,the intrinsic causes of fatigue life dispersity and distribution characteristics were clarified by correlating with fatigue failure origin modes(FFOMs).The test and analysis results indicate that the existence of internal pores significantly influences FFOMs,fatigue life dispersity,and distribution pattern.The FFOMs of microstructure and interior pores have little effect on fatigue life dispersion,In contrast,FFOMs of surface and subsurface pores present a relatively lower fatigue life and are responsible for fatigue life dispersion.Besides,two competitive effects of FFOMs with different applied stress highly affect fatigue life distribution.A bimodal Weibull model is more suitable for describing fatigue life distribution with multiple FFOMs.However,if there is no fast-computing procedure for the parameter estimation of the Bimodal Weibull model,relatively conservative and simple P-S-N curves based on the Weibull distribution model are recommended in engineering applications.
文摘How do individuals adjust their savings and consumption behaviors in response to the combined effects of increased life expectancy and declining pension replacement rates?This study constructs a life-cycle model,using changes in conditional survival probabilities as a proxy for shifts in individual life expectancy,to examine consumption behavior under the dual backdrop of prolonged longevity and a gradual decline in pension replacement rates.The results suggest that changes in life expectancy and pension replacement rates together explain 8.9%to 10.2%of the observed decline in consumption in recent years,with both variables playing equally significant explanatory roles.Furthermore,we find that,to fully offset the negative impact of increased life expectancy on consumption,the pension replacement rate must reach at least 82%.These findings offer theoretical and policy implications for improving the quality of life in later years among enterprise employees in the context of population aging.

文摘China is the most important steel producer in the world,and its steel industry is one of themost carbon-intensive industries in China.Consequently,research on carbon emissions from the steel industry is crucial for China to achieve carbon neutrality and meet its sustainable global development goals.We constructed a carbon dioxide(CO_(2))emission model for China’s iron and steel industry froma life cycle perspective,conducted an empirical analysis based on data from2019,and calculated the CO_(2)emissions of the industry throughout its life cycle.Key emission reduction factors were identified using sensitivity analysis.The results demonstrated that the CO_(2)emission intensity of the steel industry was 2.33 ton CO_(2)/ton,and the production and manufacturing stages were the main sources of CO_(2)emissions,accounting for 89.84%of the total steel life-cycle emissions.Notably,fossil fuel combustion had the highest sensitivity to steel CO_(2)emissions,with a sensitivity coefficient of 0.68,reducing the amount of fossil fuel combustion by 20%and carbon emissions by 13.60%.The sensitivities of power structure optimization and scrap consumption were similar,while that of the transportation structure adjustment was the lowest,with a sensitivity coefficient of less than 0.1.Given the current strategic goals of peak carbon and carbon neutrality,it is in the best interest of the Chinese government to actively promote energy-saving and low-carbon technologies,increase the ratio of scrap steel to steelmaking,and build a new power system.
文摘BACKGROUND Resilience is an individual’s ability and psychological rebound capacity to adapt well after experiencing adversity,trauma,etc.Patients with strong resilience can face illnesses actively.AIM To determine the association of resilience with coping styles and quality of life in patients with malignancies.METHODS This study included patients with malignant tumors who were hospitalized at Fuyang Hospital Affiliated to Anhui Medical University from March 2022 to March 2024.The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale,Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire,Social Support Rating Scale,and the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30 were utilized to assess patients’resilience,coping styles,social support,and quality of life,respectively.Pearson correlation analysis was conducted to assess the correlations.RESULTS A total of 175 patients with malignant tumors demonstrated no marked difference in terms of age,education level,employment status,monthly household income,and disease staging(P<0.05).Further,patients with malignancies demonstrated scores of 17.49±1.20,17.27±1.46,and 11.19±1.29 points in terms of coping styles in confrontation,avoidance,and resignation dimensions,respectively.Subjective support,objective support,and support utilization scores in terms of social support were 10.67±1.80,11.26±2.08,and 9.24±1.14 points,respectively.The total resilience score and tenacity,self-improvement,and optimism dimension scores were positively correlatedwith the confrontation coping style score,whereas the total resilience score and tenacity and self-improvementscores were negatively associated with avoidance and resignation coping style scores(P<0.05).The total resiliencescore and the tenacity dimension score were positively associated with physical,role,cognitive,emotional,andsocial functions,as well as global health status(P<0.05),and were inversely related to fatigue,insomnia,andeconomic difficulties(P<0.05).CONCLUSIONThe resilience of patients with malignancies is positively associated with the confrontation dimension in the copingstyle,the total and various social support domain scores,and the overall quality of life.Clinical medical staff needto pay attention to the effect of medical coping styles and social support on the resilience level of patients withmalignancies to further improve their quality of life.

文摘Studies on plant diversity are usually based on the total number of species in a community.However,few studies have examined species richness(SR)of different plant life forms in a community along largescale environmental gradients.Particularly,the relative importance(RIV)of different plant life forms in a community and how they vary with environmental variables are still unclear.To fill these gaps,we determined plant diversity of ephemeral plants,annual herbs,perennial herbs,and woody plants from 187 sites across drylands in China.The SR patterns of herbaceous plants,especially perennial herbs,and their RIV in plant communities increased with increasing precipitation and soil nutrient content;however,the RIV of annual herbs was not altered along these gradients.The SR and RIV of ephemeral plants were affected mainly by precipitation seasonality.The SR of woody plants had a unimodal relationship with air temperature and exhibited the highest RIV and SR percentage in plant communities under the harshest environments.An obvious shift emerged in plant community composition,SR and their critical impact factors at 238.5 mm of mean annual precipitation(MAP).In mesic regions(>238.5 mm),herbs were the dominant species,and the SR displayed a relatively slow decreasing rate with increasing aridity,which was mediated mainly by MAP and soil nutrients.In arid regions(<238.5 mm),woody plants were the dominant species,and the SR displayed a relatively fast decreasing rate with increasing aridity,which was mediated mainly by climate variables,especially precipitation.Our findings highlight the importance of comparative life form studies in community structure and biodiversity,as their responses to gradients differed substantially on a large scale.

文摘Accurate prediction of the remaining useful life(RUL)is crucial for the design and management of lithium-ion batteries.Although various machine learning models offer promising predictions,one critical but often overlooked challenge is their demand for considerable run-to-failure data for training.Collection of such training data leads to prohibitive testing efforts as the run-to-failure tests can last for years.Here,we propose a semi-supervised representation learning method to enhance prediction accuracy by learning from data without RUL labels.Our approach builds on a sophisticated deep neural network that comprises an encoder and three decoder heads to extract time-dependent representation features from short-term battery operating data regardless of the existence of RUL labels.The approach is validated using three datasets collected from 34 batteries operating under various conditions,encompassing over 19,900 charge and discharge cycles.Our method achieves a root mean squared error(RMSE)within 25 cycles,even when only 1/50 of the training dataset is labelled,representing a reduction of 48%compared to the conventional approach.We also demonstrate the method's robustness with varying numbers of labelled data and different weights assigned to the three decoder heads.The projection of extracted features in low space reveals that our method effectively learns degradation features from unlabelled data.Our approach highlights the promise of utilising semi-supervised learning to reduce the data demand for reliability monitoring of energy devices.

文摘Permeable roads generally exhibit inferior mechanical properties and shorter service life than traditional dense-graded/impermeable roads.Furthermore,the incorporation of recycled aggregates in their construction may exacerbate these limitations.To address these issues,this study introduced a novel cement-stabilized permeable recycled aggregate material.A total of 162 beam specimens prepared with nine different levels of cement-aggregate ratio were tested to evaluate their permeability,bending load,and bending fatigue life.The experimental results indicate that increasing the content of recycled aggregates led to a reduction in both permeability and bending load.Additionally,the inclusion of recycled aggregates diminished the energy dissipation capacity of the specimens.These findings were used to establish a robust relationship between the initial damage in cement-stabilized permeable recycled aggregate material specimens and their fatigue life,and to propose a predictive model for their fatigue performance.Further,a method for assessing fatigue damage based on the evolution of fatigue-induced strain and energy dissipation was developed.The findings of this study provide valuable insights into the mechanical behavior and fatigue performance of cement-stabilized permeable recycled aggregate materials,offering guidance for the design of low-carbon-emission,permeable,and durable roadways incorporating recycled aggregates.

文摘In 1993,the World Bank released a global report on the efficacy of health promotion,introducing the disability-adjusted life years(DALY)as a novel indicator.The DALY,a composite metric incorporating temporal and qualitative data,is grounded in preferences regarding disability status.This review delineates the algorithm used to calculate the value of the proposed DALY synthetic indicator and elucidates key methodological challenges associated with its application.In contrast to the quality-adjusted life years approach,derived from multi-attribute utility theory,the DALY stands as an independent synthetic indicator that adopts the assumptions of the Time Trade Off utility technique to define Disability Weights.Claiming to rely on no mathematical or economic theory,DALY users appear to have exempted themselves from verifying whether this indicator meets the classical properties required of all indicators,notably content validity,reliability,specificity,and sensitivity.The DALY concept emerged primarily to facilitate comparisons of the health impacts of various diseases globally within the framework of the Global Burden of Disease initiative,leading to numerous publications in international literature.Despite widespread adoption,the DALY synthetic indicator has prompted significant methodological concerns since its inception,manifesting in inconsistent and non-reproducible results.Given the substantial diffusion of the DALY indicator and its critical role in health impact assessments,a reassessment is warranted.This reconsideration is imperative for enhancing the robustness and reliability of public health decisionmaking processes.

The used method was through an active search for literature that brought the observed aspects to the structuring of the technical sheets, i.e., literature that contains data related to composition, active ingredients, interaction (when described in the consulted literature), health condition in which they may be useful in helath care by various health professionals and anyone who may be of interest. The data obtained shows that there is a need for a careful evaluation of the foods (that contain roots, rhizomes, or tubers) used by polymedicated people due to possible interactions and incompatibilities that may exist.
文摘Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a growing health issue in Bangladesh, with significant complications affecting the quality of life (QoL). This study aims to assess long-term complications, treatment patterns, and QoL of diabetic patients during COVID-19. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 385 diabetic patients (aged 18-80) from tertiary hospitals in Dhaka and Mymensingh between May and October 2022. Data were collected via a semi-structured questionnaire on sociodemographics, complications, treatment patterns, and QoL (SF-12 scale). Chi-square tests, ANOVA, and linear regression were used for inferential analysis. Results: The sample predominantly included middle-aged males (41 - 55 years) with type 2 diabetes. Diabetic retinopathy (34.5%), polyneuropathy (32.2%), and hypertension (52.3%) were the most common complications. Oral medications were used by 59.7% of patients, with 29.1% on insulin. Chi-square analysis showed a significant association between treatment adherence and complications (p β = 0.45, p Conclusion: Complications in diabetic patients significantly affect QoL in Bangladesh. Treatment adherence, especially with oral medications, positively impacts QoL. There is a need for improved access to diabetes care to manage complications and enhance the overall well-being of diabetic patients.
文摘Introduction: Common low-back pain is a frequent reason for consultation and a genuine public health problem. Preserving quality of life remains one of the main challenges. Objective: To evaluate the quality of life of patients with low back pain seen in rheumatology consultations at Brazzaville University Hospital. Patients and Method: Cross-sectional, analytical study with control group, conducted at the Brazzaville University Hospital, from January 2 to September 30, 2023. Patients over 30 years of age, seen for documented common low-back pain, were included. Study variables were epidemiological, clinical and functional. The EIFEL and SF-36 scores were used to assess functional impact and quality of life, respectively. Results: We included 96 people divided into two groups: 48 patients with low back pain and 48 controls. The frequency of common low-back pain was 12.8%. The mean age of patients with low back pain was 59.14 ± 11.86 years. Women predominated (sex ratio 0.3). Degenerative disc disease was the main etiology. Common low-back pain had a moderate impact on functional abilities, with a mean EIFEL score of 11 +/− 5.51. Quality of life was impaired in patients with low back pain (overall SF-36 at 43.95%) compared with the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P Conclusion: Common low back pain affects patients’ overall quality of life, particularly in terms of physical pain and limitations due to physical condition.
