文摘Background:Based on a profound awareness of crisis sense,Huai Nan-zi warns people of the importance of being prepared for danger in times of peace by using the principle that Heaven and Earth are ever-changing and never-ending.It also consciously constructs a cosmic life view of the organic, homologous, isomorphic, and harmonious unity of heaven, earth, and man based on human existence and destiny with a rational thinking attitude. The life philosophy of the Huai Nan-zi offers modern people a completely new holistic view of life and medicine. Not only in China, but also in Western countries, studying its medical philosophical ideas helps us better explore the theoretical roots of TCM in the era of globalized medicine. Methods:This paper mainly uses the analysis method of literature review and chinese philosophy intellectual concepts. It employs the I Ching’s image-number logic thinking method to compare images through analogy and the holistic thinking method of the three-talent view of heaven, earth, and human to understand life consciousness. Results:This article mainly interprets medical philosophy in Huai Nan-zi through three aspects:1)The body of Taoism:heaven, earth, and humanity constitute one unity within the body of the universe;2)The spirit of Taoism:keeping the spirit inward, preserving the essence and suppressing the superficial;and 3)The mind of Taoism:the principle of life governed by the dynamics of gain and loss, prosperity and decline. Conclusion:The philosophy of life presented in the Huai Nan-zi ultimately charts a course toward a state of profound theoretical integration. Its“conscious map”does not lead to a fixed destination, but to a continuous and dynamic mode of being–a life of flourishing known in Chinese as yang sheng, the nurturing of life. The destination, therefore,is the journey itself, undertaken with unwavering cosmic awareness and harmony. This ancient text reminds us that a truly healthy life is not a fragmented pursuit of physical fitness, mental peace,or spiritual insight in isolation.Instead,it is the symphony of all three(Taoist body, spirit, and mind),orchestrated by the fundamental principles of the cosmos.By aligning our inner nature with the outer Tao,we transform our existence from a series of reactive struggles into a graceful and spontaneous free flow.In a modern world characterized by fragmentation, overstimulation, and a relentless push against natural rhythms, the Huai Nan-zi’s life consciousness map is more relevant than ever. The philosophy of Huai Nan-zi not only plays a vital role in the construction of the theoretical system of TCM in ancient East life wisdom, but also is worthwhile for Western life sciences to conduct in-depth exploration and discovery in the age of AI.

文摘Accurately predicting fatigue life under multiaxial fatigue damage conditions is essential for ensuring the safety of critical components in service. However, due to the complexity of fatigue failure mechanisms, achieving accurate multiaxial fatigue life predictions remains challenging.Traditional multiaxial fatigue prediction models are often limited by specific material properties and loading conditions, making it difficult to maintain reliable life prediction results beyond these constraints. This paper presents a study on the impact of seven key feature quantities on multiaxial fatigue life, using Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN),Long Short-Term Memory Networks(LSTM),and Fully Connected Neural Networks(FCNN)within a deep learning framework.Fatigue test results from eight metal specimens were analyzed to identify these feature quantities, which were then extracted as critical time-series features.Using a CNN-LSTM network, these features were combined to form a feature matrix, which was subsequently input into an FCNN to predict metal fatigue life.A comparison of the fatigue life prediction results from the STFAN model with those from traditional prediction models—namely, the equivalent strain method, the maximum shear strain method, and the critical plane method—shows that the majority of predictions for the five metal materials and various loading conditions based on the STFAN model fall within an error band of 1.5 times.Additionally, all data points are within an error band of 2 times. These findings indicate that the STFAN model provides superior prediction accuracy compared to the traditional models, highlighting its broad applicability and high precision.
文摘BACKGROUND Approximately 30%of patients with head and neck cancer experience adverse effects caused by anxiety and depression.Considering the high prevalence, implementing customized interventions to ease adverse emotional states is imperative.AIM To evaluate the efficacy of cognitive behavioral therapy(CBT)-based psychological interventions in improving the psychological well-being and quality of life(QoL)of patients with laryngeal carcinoma.METHODS This study enrolled 120 patients admitted from February 2022 to February 2024.The control group, comprising 50 participants, received standard supportive psychological care, while the research group, consisting 70 participants, underwent CBT-based interventions.Several clinical outcomes were systematically assessed that included postoperative recovery metrics(duration of tracheostomy and nasogastric tube dependence and length of hospitalization),psychological status(Self-Rating Anxiety Scale and Self-Rating Depression Scale),nutritional markers(serum albumin and hemoglobin levels),sleep quality(Self-Rating Scale of Sleep and Athens Insomnia Scale),and QoL(Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Head and Neck).RESULTS The results demonstrated that the research group experienced superior outcomes, with significantly reduced durations of tracheostomy and nasogastric tube dependence,as well as shorter hospital stays, compared with the control group.Additionally, the research group exhibited markedly lower post-intervention Self-Rating Anxiety Scale,Self-Rating Depression Scale,Self-Rating Scale of Sleep, and Athens Insomnia Scale scores, along with minimal but higher change in serum albumin and hemoglobin levels compared with the control group. All five domains of Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Head and Neck showed notable improvements in the research group, exceeding those observed in the control group.CONCLUSION CBT-based psychological support positively affects the mental well-being and QoL of patients with laryngeal carcinoma, highlighting its potential for broader clinical application.

文摘Early life stress correlates with a higher prevalence of neurological disorders, including autism,attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, schizophrenia, depression, and Parkinson's disease. These conditions, primarily involving abnormal development and damage of the dopaminergic system, pose significant public health challenges.Microglia,as the primary immune cells in the brain, are crucial in regulating neuronal circuit development and survival. From the embryonic stage to adulthood, microglia exhibit stage-specific gene expression profiles, transcriptome characteristics, and functional phenotypes, enhancing the susceptibility to early life stress. However, the role of microglia in mediating dopaminergic system disorders under early life stress conditions remains poorly understood. This review presents an up-to-date overview of preclinical studies elucidating the impact of early life stress on microglia, leading to dopaminergic system disorders, along with the underlying mechanisms and therapeutic potential for neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental conditions.Impaired microglial activity damages dopaminergic neurons by diminishing neurotrophic support(e.g.,insulin-like growth factor-1)and hinders dopaminergic axon growth through defective phagocytosis and synaptic pruning.Furthermore, blunted microglial immunoreactivity suppresses striatal dopaminergic circuit development and reduces neuronal transmission.Furthermore, inflammation and oxidative stress induced by activated microglia can directly damage dopaminergic neurons, inhibiting dopamine synthesis, reuptake, and receptor activity.Enhanced microglial phagocytosis inhibits dopamine axon extension. These long-lasting effects of microglial perturbations may be driven by early life stress–induced epigenetic reprogramming of microglia.Indirectly, early life stress may influence microglial function through various pathways, such as astrocytic activation, the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis, the gut–brain axis, and maternal immune signaling. Finally, various therapeutic strategies and molecular mechanisms for targeting microglia to restore the dopaminergic system were summarized and discussed. These strategies include classical antidepressants and antipsychotics, antibiotics and anti-inflammatory agents, and herbal-derived medicine.Further investigations combining pharmacological interventions and genetic strategies are essential to elucidate the causal role of microglial phenotypic and functional perturbations in the dopaminergic system disrupted by early life stress.

文摘Lithium nickel oxide(Li_(2)NiO_(2)),as a sacrificial cathode prelithiation additive, has been used to compensate for the lithium loss for improving the lifespan of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).However,high-cost Li_(2)NiO_(2)suffers from inferior delithiation kinetics during the first cycle.Herein,we investigated the effects of the cost-effective copper substituted Li_(2)Ni_(1-x)Cu_(x)O_(2)(x=0,0.2,0.3,0.5,0.7)synthesized by a high-temperature solid-phase method on the structure, morphology, electrochemical performance of graphite‖LiFePO_(4)battery.The X-ray diffraction(XRD)refinement result demonstrated that Cu substitution strategy could be favorable for eliminating the NiO_(x)impurity phase and weakening Li-O bond.Analysis on density of states(DOS)indicates that Cu substitution is good for enhancing the electronic conductivity,as well as reducing the delithi-ation voltage polarization confirmed by electrochemical characterizations. Therefore, the optimal Li_(2)Ni_(0.7)Cu_(0.3)O_(2)delivered a high delithiation capacity of 437 mAh·g^(-1),around 8%above that of the pristine Li_(2)NiO_(2).Furthermore,a graphite‖LiFePO_(4)pouch cell with a nominal capacity of 3000 mAh demonstrated a notably improved reversible capacity, energy density and cycle life through introducing 2 wt%Li_(2)Ni_(0.7)Cu_(0.3)O_(2)additive,delivering a 6.2 mAh·g^(-1)higher initial discharge capacity and achieving around 5%improvement in capacity retentnion at 0.5P over 1000 cycles.Additionally, the post-mortem analyses testified that the Li_(2)Ni_(0.7)Cu_(0.3)O_(2)additive could suppress solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)decomposition and homogenize the Li distribution, which benefits to stabilizing interface between graphite and electrolyte, and alleviating dendritic Li plating. In conclusion, the Li_(2)Ni_(0.7)Cu_(0.3)O_(2)additive may offer advantages such as lower cost, lower delithiation voltage and higher prelithiation capacity compared with Li_(2)NiO_(2),making it a promising candidate of cathode prelithiation additive for next-generation LIBs.
文摘BACKGROUND The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has had profound physical, psychological, and social consequences, with lasting effects on health-related quality of life(HRQoL)among people with a history of COVID-19.AIM To synthesize the current evidence on HRQoL and long-term health outcomes among people with a history of COVID-19 in India.METHODS We incorporated studies from India reporting post-COVID HRQoL outcomes using validated instruments, including the 5-level EuroQol 5-Dimensional questionnaire, the EuroQol Visual Analogue Scale, the Short Form-36 Health Survey, the World Health Organization Quality of Life-Brief Version, and the European Health Interview Survey-Quality of Life.Pooled mean 5-level EuroQol 5-Dimensional questionnaire scores with 95%CIs were calculated for HRQoL.Adjusted odds ratios were pooled for comorbidity, disease severity, intensive care unit admission, age, sex, and vaccination status using random-effects models.RESULTS Three studies(n=1526)reported EuroQol instruments, with the 5-level EuroQol 5-Dimensional questionnaire utility scores suitable for quantitative pooling. The pooled mean utility was 0.83(95%CI:0.75-0.92),although heterogeneity was high because the included studies represented clinically distinct populations.Across all studies, several determinants were consistently associated with impaired HRQoL.Older adults(≥60 years)had higher odds of poor HRQoL[pooled odds ratio(OR)=1.83,95%CI:1.43-2.35],and females were more likely to experience impaired HRQoL(pooled OR=1.74,95%CI:1.44-2.10),whereas males had a lower risk(pooled OR=0.58,95%CI:0.48-0.70).Being unvaccinated increased the likelihood of persistent symptoms or reduced HRQoL(pooled OR=1.60,95%CI:1.21-2.14).Comorbidity(pooled OR=1.94,95%CI:1.43-2.63)and severe acute COVID-19 or intensive care unit admission(pooled OR=2.77,95%CI:2.13-3.59)were also strongly associated with poorer HRQoL Six additional studies utilizing disparate instruments(EuroQol Visual Analogue Scale,Short Form-36 Health Survey,World Health Organization Quality of Life-Brief Version,European Health Interview Survey-Quality of Life)were excluded from quantitative synthesis due to measurement heterogeneity.CONCLUSION Post-COVID HRQoL in people with a history of COVID-19 in India is suboptimal, with greater impairment observed among older adults, females, patients with comorbidities or severe disease, and unvaccinated individuals. These findings highlight the need for targeted rehabilitation and preventive strategies.
文摘With the increasingly serious environmental problems, the use of sustainable materials is particularly important. This study focuses on the greenhouse gas emissions and economic costs of wood over its life cycle as a sustainable resource. We use a systematic life cycle assessment(LCA)approach to assess the entire process from raw material collection, processing, use to disposal. The study found that using wood can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional building materials such as steel and concrete. In addition, although the initial procurement costs of wood may be higher, its maintenance costs are lower in the long run, making the life cycle costs generally more economical. The results of this study highlight the environmental and economic advantages of wood in the selection of sustainable building materials, and provide a scientific basis for promoting the use of wood.

文摘Additive manufactured titanium alloys exhibit distinct microstructures and internal defects compared to forged alloys. This has a significant impact on its fatigue failure behavior and fatigue life distribution.Fatigue life dispersity and distribution characteristics of laser direct energy deposited Ti-6.5Al-3.5Mo-1.5Zr-0.3Si alloy were investigated by a relatively large sample fatigue test, fracture morphology characterization, and statistical analytic method. Then, the intrinsic causes of fatigue life dispersity and distribution characteristics were clarified by correlating with fatigue failure origin modes(FFOMs).The test and analysis results indicate that the existence of internal pores significantly influences FFOMs,fatigue life dispersity, and distribution pattern. The FFOMs of microstructure and interior pores have little effect on fatigue life dispersion,In contrast,FFOMs of surface and subsurface pores present a relatively lower fatigue life and are responsible for fatigue life dispersion.Besides, two competitive effects of FFOMs with different applied stress highly affect fatigue life distribution.A bimodal Weibull model is more suitable for describing fatigue life distribution with multiple FFOMs.However,if there is no fast-computing procedure for the parameter estimation of the Bimodal Weibull model, relatively conservative and simple P-S-N curves based on the Weibull distribution model are recommended in engineering applications.
文摘How do individuals adjust their savings and consumption behaviors in response to the combined effects of increased life expectancy and declining pension replacement rates? This study constructs a life-cycle model, using changes in conditional survival probabilities as a proxy for shifts in individual life expectancy,to examine consumption behavior under the dual backdrop of prolonged longevity and a gradual decline in pension replacement rates. The results suggest that changes in life expectancy and pension replacement rates together explain 8.9%to 10.2%of the observed decline in consumption in recent years, with both variables playing equally significant explanatory roles.Furthermore,we find that,to fully offset the negative impact of increased life expectancy on consumption, the pension replacement rate must reach at least 82%.These findings offer theoretical and policy implications for improving the quality of life in later years among enterprise employees in the context of population aging.
