The study is both quantitative and qualitative. Over the years students of BFSU and SHISU have shown a progress of possessing more and more appropriate methodological expertise in selecting research topics. More and more students have examined relatively new translation theories. We also see a change from picking overdone topics to more and more original topics. Our progress in no small part thanks to our administrative measures. As for GSTI of BFSU, however there is a demand for elective courses to cover areas such as interdisciplinary approaches to translation and multimedia, which are untouched in the current courses that focus on professional translation and interpretation. We might also want to sharpen students' language skill in providing purposefully language-rich texts for practices and allowing for more diversified options, such as introducing texts in world literature, ethnic English literature, drama, poetry, and non classics. The GSTI's long term cooperation with well-known organizations, both domestic and international, especially with United Nations at Geneva and New York, and European Union, offers students many on site training and field experiences. We might also want to introduce functional research methods, thus students can learn how to transform their field experiences into academic work.展开更多

Methods The advantages and disadvantages of the integrated curriculumof medical genetics and embryonic development were analyzed with the comparative analysis method. And opinions of students of the eight-year clinical medicine on the teaching of the current integrated curriculum were learnt about with questionnaires. Results The current integrated curriculum of medical genetics and embryonic development has basically achieved the goal of simplifying the original teaching contents and the crossing and integration of the related discipline contents, the overall student satisfaction is high. Conclusion The integrated curriculum of medical genetics and embryonic development is helpful for the integral optimization of the medical curriculum framework, which can be expanded to the five-year clinical medicine in the future.展开更多

These gaps required innovative problem-solving by public health agencies (PHAs), including local health departments (LHDs), to respond to rapidly changing community conditions during and after the pandemic. Many schools and programs of public health (SPPH) worked with PHAs to mobilize public health (PH) students through practice-based teaching (PBT). Current research indicates PBT benefits all stakeholders—PHAs, students, faculty, SPPH, and ultimately the community served. However, more research is needed on the utility of PBT in addressing a community’s systemic public health issues, the extent to which the academic-community collaboration enhances a PHA’s capacity, and the impact of the pedagogy on preparing the workforce for an evolving PH landscape. This paper examines the process of a semester-long PBT course, guided by the PBT STEPS framework, which includes five steps from collaboration to implementation to evaluation of a PBT course. The collaborating PHA and its student group addressed community trauma and resilience issues during the semester. Additionally, it examines the longer-term impacts after the semester for the PHA, community, and the workforce by 1) conducting a formative evaluation to understand needs and gaps in the community;2) redesigning an intervention that merged the results of the formative evaluation with the intervention developed during the semester;and 3) securing funding and resources for intervention sustainability. Through the documentation of a post-course partnership between an LHD and faculty at a large school of public health, this case study illustrates the potential for PBT to lay the foundation for ongoing research that supports more impactful interventions for PHAs while bolstering the workforce abilities of students as future practitioners.展开更多
