This paper explores the historical development and modern transformation of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)to dispel the misconception that it is merely“traditional,ancient,backward and unscientific”.TCM,with root...This paper explores the historical development and modern transformation of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)to dispel the misconception that it is merely“traditional,ancient,backward and unscientific”.TCM,with roots in ancient times,has evolved into a comprehensive medical system through the integration of empirical knowledge and theoretical frameworks.This review summarizes TCM’s development from three aspects:(1)Ancient Medical Development:From the Spring and Autumn to Han-Tang periods(770 B.C.E.-907 C.E.),the focus was on summarizing experience.A clear disciplinary classification emerged during the Song and Ming Dynasties(960 C.E.-1644 C.E.),and a complete medical system was established in the Qing Dynasty(1636 C.E.-1912 C.E.).(2)Modern Medical Development:Influenced by the European Industrial Revolution,new natural sciences-based technologies enhanced Western medicine’s diagnostic and treatment efficiency.The promotion of Western medicine in China and its metrological concepts,which underpin metrology-based medicine(MBM),in turn propelled the development of TCM.(3)The integration of modern TCM with metrology science has significantly changed TCM’s treatment and pharmaceutical fields.In recent decades,the introduction of western medicine has advanced TCM,creating a combined approach that leverages the advantages of both traditions.Supported by metrology and modern sciences,this integration has provided new tools for TCM quantification,standardization,and quality control.The paper emphasizes key milestones in TCM history,the impact of Western medicine and metrology on its modernization,and the potential of integrated approaches for complex medical challenges.It highlights the importance of preserving traditional knowledge while innovating to enhance TCM’s efficacy and safety.Future prospects suggest that TCM,combined with Metrology-based medicine,may play a crucial role in treating complex diseases,as modern Chinese medicine(MCM)has evolved with scientific advancements and integration of contemporary techniques.展开更多

Objective Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of Chinese patent medicines and classic tra-ditional Chinese medicine prescriptions were systematically reviewed from both Chinese and English journals published in 2023.A p...Objective Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of Chinese patent medicines and classic tra-ditional Chinese medicine prescriptions were systematically reviewed from both Chinese and English journals published in 2023.A preliminary summary and evaluation were conducted on the generation and translation of clinical evidence for these treatments.This analysis aims to inform future research on clinical efficacy evaluation and guide the rational application of evidence.Methods RCTs of Chinese patent medicines and classic traditional Chinese prescriptions published in 2023 were comprehensively retrieved from the Artificial Intelligence Clinical Evi-dence Database for Chinese Patent Medicine(AICED-CPM),with supplementary searches conducted in China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang Data,Chinese Sci-ence and Technology Journal Database(VIP),Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(SinoMed),Cochrane Library,PubMed,Embase,and Web of Science.The study characteris-tics and methodological quality of these RCTs were systematically analyzed and evaluated.Results A total of 1443 RCTs of Chinese patent medicines were included,comprising 1399 Chinese articles and 44 English articles.Additionally,334 RCTs of classic traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions were found,with 331 published in Chinese and 3 in English.196567 participants were included,covering 585 types of Chinese patent medicines(487 oral,61 in-jectable,and 37 topical)and 179 classic traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions.The in-volved studies encompassed 22 types of diseases,with research primarily focusing on dis-eases of the circulatory system,the respiratory system,and the genitourinary system.The sample sizes ranged from 18 to 3777 participants,and most studies were conducted at a sin-gle center.Methodologically,the implementation of allocation concealment and blinding re-mained insufficiently emphasized.Conclusion Overall,compared with 2022,both the number of RCT publications and their methodological quality have improved in 2023,with heightened attention to research on diseases of the genitourinary system.However,quality control and standardized management in the design and implementation processes still require enhancement to produce more high-quality clinical evidence and accelerate the translation and application of this evidence.展开更多

Objective:To analyze the application value of prescription management of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules in reducing unreasonable prescriptions.Methods:From January to June 2024,before improving prescrip...Objective:To analyze the application value of prescription management of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules in reducing unreasonable prescriptions.Methods:From January to June 2024,before improving prescription management strategies,118 patients treated with traditional Chinese medicine formula granules were included in the control group.From July to December 2024,after improving prescription management strategies,118 patients treated with traditional Chinese medicine formula granules were included in the observation group.The unqualified prescription rate,incidence of adverse reactions,complaint rate,and satisfaction were compared.Results:The unqualified prescription rate of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05);the incidence of adverse reactions and patient complaint rate of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05);the satisfaction of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Improving the prescription management strategy of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules can reduce the unqualified prescription rate and the incidence of adverse drug reactions,reduce patient complaints,and is conducive to improving patient satisfaction.展开更多
Modern western medicine typically focuses on treating specific symptoms or diseases,and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)emphasizes the interconnections of the body’s various systems under external environment and ta...Modern western medicine typically focuses on treating specific symptoms or diseases,and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)emphasizes the interconnections of the body’s various systems under external environment and takes a holistic approach to preventing and treating diseases.Phenomics was initially introduced to the field of TCM in 2008 as a new discipline that studies the laws of integrated and dynamic changes of human clinical phenomes under the scope of the theories and practices of TCM based on phenomics.While TCM Phenomics 1.0 has initially established a clinical phenomic system centered on Zhenghou(a TCM definition of clinical phenome),bottlenecks remain in data standardization,mechanistic interpretation,and precision intervention.Here,we systematically elaborates on the theoretical foundations,technical pathways,and future challenges of integrating digital medicine with TCM phenomics under the framework of“TCM phenomics 2.0”,which is supported by digital medicine technologies such as artificial intelligence,wearable devices,medical digital twins,and multi-omics integration.This framework aims to construct a closed-loop system of“Zhenghou–Phenome–Mechanism–Intervention”and to enable the digitization,standardization,and precision of disease diagnosis and treatment.The integration of digital medicine and TCM phenomics not only promotes the modernization and scientific transformation of TCM theory and practice but also offers new paradigms for precision medicine.In practice,digital tools facilitate multi-source clinical data acquisition and standardization,while AI and big data algorithms help reveal the correlations between clinical Zhenghou phenomes and molecular mechanisms,thereby improving scientific rigor in diagnosis,efficacy evaluation,and personalized intervention.Nevertheless,challenges persist,including data quality and standardization issues,shortage of interdisciplinary talents,and insufficiency of ethical and legal regulations.Future development requires establishing national data-sharing platforms,strengthening international collaboration,fostering interdisciplinary professionals,and improving ethical and legal frameworks.Ultimately,this approach seeks to build a new disease identification and classification system centered on phenomes and to achieve the inheritance,innovation,and modernization of TCM diagnostic and therapeutic patterns.展开更多

Prostate cancer(PCa)is one of the most common malignant tumors in the male genitourinary system,ranking second in incidence worldwide.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),as an important component of complementary and al...Prostate cancer(PCa)is one of the most common malignant tumors in the male genitourinary system,ranking second in incidence worldwide.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),as an important component of complementary and alternative medicine,shows unique advantages in cancer treatment.Chinese herbal medicine is usually composed of multiple ingredients and involves multiple signaling pathways,which showed function of inducing apoptosis of cancer cells,arresting the cell cycle,inhibiting invasion and metastasis,reducing drug resistance,and regulating immune function.Physical therapy is also an important treatment of TCM.Currently,Physical therapy such as acupuncture or Tai Chi and Qigong are gaining increased recognition in the management of PCa,particularly in addressing issues like urinary incontinence and bone metastasis-related pain.This article reviews the TCM treatment and therapy of PCa,in order to provide new research avenues and treatment options for the treatment of PCa with TCM and improve the quality of life of patients.展开更多

文摘Objective Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of Chinese patent medicines and classic tra-ditional Chinese medicine prescriptions were systematically reviewed from both Chinese and English journals published in 2023.A preliminary summary and evaluation were conducted on the generation and translation of clinical evidence for these treatments.This analysis aims to inform future research on clinical efficacy evaluation and guide the rational application of evidence.Methods RCTs of Chinese patent medicines and classic traditional Chinese prescriptions published in 2023 were comprehensively retrieved from the Artificial Intelligence Clinical Evi-dence Database for Chinese Patent Medicine(AICED-CPM),with supplementary searches conducted in China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang Data,Chinese Sci-ence and Technology Journal Database(VIP),Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(SinoMed),Cochrane Library,PubMed,Embase,and Web of Science.The study characteris-tics and methodological quality of these RCTs were systematically analyzed and evaluated.Results A total of 1443 RCTs of Chinese patent medicines were included,comprising 1399 Chinese articles and 44 English articles.Additionally,334 RCTs of classic traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions were found,with 331 published in Chinese and 3 in English.196567 participants were included,covering 585 types of Chinese patent medicines(487 oral,61 in-jectable,and 37 topical)and 179 classic traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions.The in-volved studies encompassed 22 types of diseases,with research primarily focusing on dis-eases of the circulatory system,the respiratory system,and the genitourinary system.The sample sizes ranged from 18 to 3777 participants,and most studies were conducted at a sin-gle center.Methodologically,the implementation of allocation concealment and blinding re-mained insufficiently emphasized.Conclusion Overall,compared with 2022,both the number of RCT publications and their methodological quality have improved in 2023,with heightened attention to research on diseases of the genitourinary system.However,quality control and standardized management in the design and implementation processes still require enhancement to produce more high-quality clinical evidence and accelerate the translation and application of this evidence.

文摘As a core mechanism for training talents in Chinese medicine,a follow-up study has constructed a unique Chinese medicine education model through the in-depth intermingling of teacher-training mode and clinical practice.In the process of teacher training,the tutor transfers the implicit knowledge such as identification thinking and medication experience in the form of“oral transmission and clinical instruction,”so that the academic postgraduates of Chinese medicine can understand the holistic view of the correspondence between heaven and man,the methodology of identification and treatment,and the internal logic of rationale,methodology,prescription and medicine in the clinical diagnosis and treatment.This kind of transmission not only strengthens the students’basic clinical skills of combining the four diagnoses and analyzing the evidence,but also fosters their academic innovation ability of applying classical theories to solve complex clinical problems through the in-depth analysis of typical medical cases.In this paper,we discuss the significance of teacher-training education in the training of academic postgraduates in Chinese medicine,and propose an optimization path for the reference of higher education in Chinese medicine.
文摘Objective To study the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine,and to offer an insight for the public.Methods Literature review,data retrieval and systematic analysis were used to elaborate and summarize the influence of changes in related classification and policy reform of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)registration on its inheritance and innovation.The study was carried out in the context of the TCM registration related classification and policy reform and evolution on TCM inheritance and innovation.Results and Conclusion TCM registration plays an important role in the inheritance and innovation of TCM,which greatly influences on its inheritance and innovation.The reform of new registration classification respects the law of TCM research and development,reflecting the establishment of the review and approval system in line with the characteristics of TCM inheritance,which promotes the research and development of new drugs.The establishment of the review and approval system also accelerates the marketing transformation of new traditional Chinese medicine.TCM innovation should attach importance to clinical value orientation and improve the scientific connotation of TCM.Meanwhile,the advantage of China’s accession to ICH,PIC/S and other international drug certification organizations should be taken to speed up the construction of international mutual recognition of TCM standardization system,which can provide a broader path for the inheritance and innovation of TCM in the new era.
文摘Objective:To analyze the application value of prescription management of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules in reducing unreasonable prescriptions.Methods:From January to June 2024,before improving prescription management strategies,118 patients treated with traditional Chinese medicine formula granules were included in the control group.From July to December 2024,after improving prescription management strategies,118 patients treated with traditional Chinese medicine formula granules were included in the observation group.The unqualified prescription rate,incidence of adverse reactions,complaint rate,and satisfaction were compared.Results:The unqualified prescription rate of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05);the incidence of adverse reactions and patient complaint rate of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05);the satisfaction of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Improving the prescription management strategy of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules can reduce the unqualified prescription rate and the incidence of adverse drug reactions,reduce patient complaints,and is conducive to improving patient satisfaction.

文摘Modern western medicine typically focuses on treating specific symptoms or diseases,and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)emphasizes the interconnections of the body’s various systems under external environment and takes a holistic approach to preventing and treating diseases.Phenomics was initially introduced to the field of TCM in 2008 as a new discipline that studies the laws of integrated and dynamic changes of human clinical phenomes under the scope of the theories and practices of TCM based on phenomics.While TCM Phenomics 1.0 has initially established a clinical phenomic system centered on Zhenghou(a TCM definition of clinical phenome),bottlenecks remain in data standardization,mechanistic interpretation,and precision intervention.Here,we systematically elaborates on the theoretical foundations,technical pathways,and future challenges of integrating digital medicine with TCM phenomics under the framework of“TCM phenomics 2.0”,which is supported by digital medicine technologies such as artificial intelligence,wearable devices,medical digital twins,and multi-omics integration.This framework aims to construct a closed-loop system of“Zhenghou–Phenome–Mechanism–Intervention”and to enable the digitization,standardization,and precision of disease diagnosis and treatment.The integration of digital medicine and TCM phenomics not only promotes the modernization and scientific transformation of TCM theory and practice but also offers new paradigms for precision medicine.In practice,digital tools facilitate multi-source clinical data acquisition and standardization,while AI and big data algorithms help reveal the correlations between clinical Zhenghou phenomes and molecular mechanisms,thereby improving scientific rigor in diagnosis,efficacy evaluation,and personalized intervention.Nevertheless,challenges persist,including data quality and standardization issues,shortage of interdisciplinary talents,and insufficiency of ethical and legal regulations.Future development requires establishing national data-sharing platforms,strengthening international collaboration,fostering interdisciplinary professionals,and improving ethical and legal frameworks.Ultimately,this approach seeks to build a new disease identification and classification system centered on phenomes and to achieve the inheritance,innovation,and modernization of TCM diagnostic and therapeutic patterns.

文摘This paper thoroughly explores the multifaceted factors influencing the efficacy of Chinese medicinals and categorizes them into three main groups:medicinal related factors,patient related factors,and practitioner related factors.Regarding medicinal related factors,the place of origin,growing environment,harvesting time,storage conditions,quality control,dosage form selection,compatibility of medicinals,precise dosing,decoction methods,and administration routes all significantly impact efficacy.The place of origin determines the authenticity of medicinals,the growing environment affects their composition,harvesting time influences potency,improper storage leads to deterioration,quality control forms the foundation of efficacy,dosage forms and compatibility of medicinals affect absorption,dosing and decoction methods require precision,and administration routes should be tailored to individuals.Patient related factors include psychological state,individual differences,background,and disease condition.Psychological state affects treatment compliance,individual differences determine medicine responses,background influences patients’understanding of Chinese medicinals,and disease condition directly reflects efficacy.Practitioner related factors encompass theoretical knowledge,clinical experience,inherited practices,psychological state,and professional ethics.Theoretical knowledge guides medication use,clinical experience enhances efficacy,inherited practices influence prescribing styles,psychological state affects doctor–patient communication,and professional ethics ensure medical quality.These interrelated factors collectively influence the efficacy of Chinese medicinals,emphasizing the need for comprehensive consideration in clinical applications to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes.

文摘Prostate cancer(PCa)is one of the most common malignant tumors in the male genitourinary system,ranking second in incidence worldwide.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),as an important component of complementary and alternative medicine,shows unique advantages in cancer treatment.Chinese herbal medicine is usually composed of multiple ingredients and involves multiple signaling pathways,which showed function of inducing apoptosis of cancer cells,arresting the cell cycle,inhibiting invasion and metastasis,reducing drug resistance,and regulating immune function.Physical therapy is also an important treatment of TCM.Currently,Physical therapy such as acupuncture or Tai Chi and Qigong are gaining increased recognition in the management of PCa,particularly in addressing issues like urinary incontinence and bone metastasis-related pain.This article reviews the TCM treatment and therapy of PCa,in order to provide new research avenues and treatment options for the treatment of PCa with TCM and improve the quality of life of patients.
