In monitoring Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs),the traffic usually has bursty characteristics when an event occurs.Transient congestion would increase delay and packet loss rate severely,which greatly reduces network performance.To solve this problem,we propose a Burstiness-aware Congestion Control Protocol(BCCP) for wireless sensor networks.In BCCP,the backoff delay is adopted as a congestion indication.Normally,sensor nodes work on contention-based MAC protocol(such as CSMA/CA).However,when congestion occurs,localized TDMA instead of CSMA/CA is embedded into the nodes around the congestion area.Thus,the congestion nodes only deliver their data during their assigned slots to alleviate the contention-caused congestion.Finally,we implement BCCP in our sensor network testbed.The experiment results show that BCCP could detect area congestion in time,and improve the network performance significantly in terms of delay and packet loss rate. 展开更多

The system is designed into three layers namely the sensor and actuator layer, the PLC field monitoring and control layer and the remote network monitoring and control layer. Through ZigBee wireless network, PROFIBUS and GPRS wireless network, the system makes the three layers exchange information rapidly, and the system supervises not only various operational parameters of the power generating system but also weather changes as a way to change the solar tracking strategy of the PV power generating system and reduce the operating energy consumption of the system. Through the hardware redundant design of PLC central controller and the upper computer, the solar PV power station can be more secure and reliable when running. 展开更多

In this letter, we present a wireless sensor network for monitoring the maturity stage of fruit. A dual-polari- zation coupled patch sensor, which is robust to environmental changes, was designed to operate at 2.45 GHz. It was attached to a Durian fruit for a period of days to measure the magnitude of mutual coupling corresponding mainly to the starch concentration of its pulp. Signal was transmitted from a sensor node, via tree nodes, to a master node that displays the variations occurring in the period. The maximum mutual coupling occurred at the maturity stage of 60% whereas the minimum occurred at 70%. These results demonstrate that this wireless sensor network can enable fruit growers to harvest their Durians at an appropriate time, providing a reliable quality control for export. 展开更多

Monitoring behaviour of the elderly and the disabled living alone has become a major public health problem in our modern societies. Among the various scientific aspects involved in the home monitoring field, we are interested in the study and the proposal of a solution allowing distributed sensor nodes to communicate with each other in an optimal way adapted to the specific application constraints. More precisely, we want to build a wireless network that consists of several short range sensor nodes exchanging data between them according to a communication protocol at MAC (Medium Access Control) level. This protocol must be able to optimize energy consumption, transmission time and loss of information. To achieve this objective, we have analyzed the advantages and the limitations of WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) technologies and communication protocols currently used in relation to the requirements of our application. Then we proposed a deterministic, adaptive and energy saving medium access method based on the IEEE 802.15.4 physical layer and a mesh topology. It ensures the message delivery time with strongly limited collision risk due to the spatial reuse of medium in the two-hop neighbourhood. This proposal was characterized by modelling and simulation using OPNET network simulator. Finally we implemented the proposed mechanisms on hardware devices and deployed a sensors network in real situation to verify the accuracy of the model and evaluate the proposal according to different test configurations. 展开更多

This paper presents a Fuzzy Control Model for SHM (Structural Health Monitoring) of civil infrastructure systems. Two important considerations of this model are (a) effective control of structural mechanism to prevent damage of civil infrastructure systems, and (b) energy-efficient data transmissions. Fuzzy Logic is incorporated into the model to provide (a) capability for handling imprecision and non-statistical uncertainty associated with structural monitoring, and (b) framework for effective control of the mechanism of civil infrastructure systems. Moreover, wireless smart sensors are deployed in the model to measure dynamic response of civil infrastructure systems to structural excitation. The operation of these wireless smart sensors is characterized as discounted SMDP (Semi-Markov Decision Process) consisting of two states, namely: sensing/processing and transmitting/receiving. The objective of the SMDP-based measurement scheme is to choose policy that offers optimal energy-efficient transmission of measured value of vibration-based dynamic response. Depending on the net magnitude of measured dynamic responses to excitation signals, data may (or may not) be transmitted to the Fuzzy control segment for appropriate control of the mechanism of civil infrastructure systems. The efficacy of this model is tested via numerical analysis, which is implemented in MATLAB software. It is shown that this model can provide energy-efficient structural health monitoring and effective control of civil infrastructure systems. 展开更多

针对现有分层采油工艺技术存在的不适应检泵作业、有效工作寿命短、通讯可靠性差等问题,提出了电磁耦合智能分层采油技术,研制了核心工具及配套工具,并开展了现场试验。采用生产和配产管柱分离的丢手管柱结构,当两管柱在井下对接后,利... 针对现有分层采油工艺技术存在的不适应检泵作业、有效工作寿命短、通讯可靠性差等问题,提出了电磁耦合智能分层采油技术,研制了核心工具及配套工具,并开展了现场试验。采用生产和配产管柱分离的丢手管柱结构,当两管柱在井下对接后,利用电磁耦合原理实现管柱间电能与信号的近距离无线传输,为井下多个智能配产器供电,并实现双向通讯。研制了适应井下复杂工况的电磁耦合传能与通讯装置、智能配产器、地面控制器等核心工具,以及大通径丢手锚定器、油井过电缆封隔器等配套工具,实现了技术定型。在大庆油田完成10口井现场试验,两管柱井下对接快捷、可靠,电磁耦合传能与通讯装置工作稳定,实现了井下分层流量、压力、温度的实时监测和分层产液量调控,提高了储层认识程度,取得了增油、降含水的生产实效。 展开更多

To address the challenges associated with existing separated zone oil production technologies,such as incompatibility with pump inspection operations,short effective working life,and poor communication reliability,an innovative electromagnetic coupling intelligent zonal oil production technology has been proposed.The core and accessory tools have been developed and applied in field tests.This technology employs a pipe string structure incorporation a release sub,which separates the production and allocation pipe strings.When the two strings are docked downhole,electromagnetic coupling enables close-range wireless transmission of electrical power and signals between the strings,powering multiple downhole intelligent production allocators(IPAs)and enabling two-way communication.Core tools adapted to the complex working conditions downhole were developed,including downhole electricity&signal transmission equipment based on electromagnetic coupling(EST),IPAs,and ground communication controllers(GCCs).Accessory tools,including large-diameter release sub anchor and cable-crossing packers,have also been technically finalized.Field tests conducted on ten wells in Daqing Oilfield demonstrated that the downhole docking of the two strings was convenient and reliable,and the EST worked stably.Real-time monitoring of flow rate,pressure and temperature in separate layers and regulation of zonal fluid production were also achieved.This technology has enhanced reservoir understanding and achieved practical production results of increased oil output with reduced water cut. 展开更多

针对广州地铁5号线无线接入点(AP)设备存在的重启效率低、监控手段缺乏、故障影响范围大等难题,研究一套无线AP集中控制系统。系统架构包括现场设备层、车站汇聚层和中央控制层3个部分,其中现场设备层应用一对具有接点映射功能的控制发... 针对广州地铁5号线无线接入点(AP)设备存在的重启效率低、监控手段缺乏、故障影响范围大等难题,研究一套无线AP集中控制系统。系统架构包括现场设备层、车站汇聚层和中央控制层3个部分,其中现场设备层应用一对具有接点映射功能的控制发射端和控制接收端装置,实现本地/远程操作重启;系统软件通过检查从网络管理服务器获取的全线AP设备的运行状态信息,如通信状态、网卡收发数据量大小、网卡灵敏度等数据,评估无线AP是否需要进行重启。该系统主要应用于无线AP设备故障后的应急恢复和故障前的预防处理两大场景,目前已在广州地铁5号线部署应用,实现了单点对全线无线AP设备的统一监控和运维管理。经运营评估,系统应用后无线AP平均重启时间由30 min缩短为30 s,全年列车紧急制动故障数下降41%,可为城市轨道交通行业内同类技术问题的解决提供参考。 展开更多
