The results show that CPs and fraction 3 of CPs from Sephadex G-10 column enhance in vitro ADH activity. Furthermore, the in vitro accelerating effect of the fraction 3 of CPs on ADH activity was superior to that of glutathione, which was also found even in the presence of ADH inhibitor, such as pyrazole. In the in vivo experiments, the animals were fed with different dosages of CPs and with a dose of Chinese distilled spirit orally, and sacrificed for the measurement of ADH activity. In vivo experimental results indicate that CPS enhanced hepatic ADH activities. To test the safety of CPs as health food, 30 d feeding test was performed. No obvious toxic effects were detected in treated Wistar rats.展开更多

In this study, a series of Pd/XC-72 catalysts were synthesized by a facile solvothermal method in solvents with different numbers of hydroxyl groups, including ethanol, ethylene glycol, and glycerine. The as-prepared catalysts Pd/XC-72(EA), Pd/XC-72(EG) and Pd/XC-72(GI) were characterized by XRD, TEM, TGA, ICP-MS and multipoint nitrogen adsorption-desorption experiments. It was found that Pd/XC-72(GI) had the highest metallic dispersion and the smallest particle size (4.9 nm). Furthermore, Pd/XC-72(GI) exhibited the best catalytic performance for solvent-free selective oxidation of benzyl alcohol while the catalytic activities of Pd/XC-72 catalysts decreased in the order: Pd/XC-72(GI) > Pd/XC-72(EG) > Pd/XC-72(EA).展开更多

The adsorption performance of these organics on the TNA photoelectrode was investigated by using the instantaneous photocurrent value, and the degradation property was examined by using the exhausted reaction. The results showed that glucose exhibited the poor adsorption and easy degradation performance, phthalate showed the strong adsorption and harddegradation, but TBA showed the weak adsorption and was the most difficult to be degraded. The degradation of both glucose and phthalate could be inhibited evidently by TBA. But the effect on glucose was more obvious. The different inhibition effects of TBA on different organics could be attributed to the differences in the adsorption and the degradation property. For instance, phthalate of the strong adsorption property could avoid from the capture of·OH radicals by TBA in TNA photoelectrocatalytic process.展开更多

The result showed that 1∶1 complex was predominant in these systems. The relaxation time showed a linear dependence with alkyl chain length of both alcohols and acrylic esters, but the dielectric constant showed a reverse trend. A comparative study of the free energy of activation for the dielectric relaxation and viscous flow suggested that a greater interference by neighboring atom was observed in the process of viscous flow than in dielectric relaxation, as the latter involved rotational form of motion, whereas the viscous flow involved both rotational and translational forms of motion.展开更多

Biosorption is a very common method to remove toxic Cr(VI) from industrial waste water. In biosorption Cr(VI) is reduced to less toxic Cr(III) and adsorbed in biosorbent as Cr(III). Effective biosorbents contain hydroxy groups;it may be aliphatic or aromatic. Kinetics of reduction of Cr(VI) by an aromatic alcohol, benzyl alcohol, (which is an important volatile component of flowers of some night blooming plants) in micellar media have been studied spectrophotometrically. Micellar media is a probe to establish the mechanistic paths of reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III). Effects of electrolytes are studied to support the proposed reaction mechanism. Suitable surfactant & suitable concentration of electrolyte enhance the biosorption property.展开更多
