文摘Effects of the matrix properties, particle size distribution and interfacial matrix failure on the elastoplastic deformationbehavior in Al matrix composites reinforced by SiC particles with an average size of 5μm and volume fraction of 12%werequantitatively calculated by using the expanded effective assumption(EMA)model. The particle size distribution naturally bringsabout the variation of matrix properties and the interfacial matrix failure due to the presence of SiC particles. The theoretical resultscoincide well with those of the experiment. The current research indicates that the load transfer between matrix and reinforcements, grain refinement in matrix, and enhanced dislocation density originated from the thermal mismatch between SiC particles and Almatrix increase the flow stress of the composites, but the interfacial matrix failure is opposite. It also proves that the load transfer, grain refinement and dislocation strengthening are the main strengthening mechanisms, and the interfacial matrix failure and ductilefracture of matrix are the dominating fracture modes in the composites. The mechanical properties of the composites strongly dependon the metal matrix.

文摘A Hybrid Free-Form Deformation(HFFD)method is developed to improve shape preservation in mesh deformation for perforated surfaces, which traditional Free-Form Deformation(FFD)techniques struggle to handle effectively. The proposed method enables high-fidelity parameterized deformation for both flat and curved perforated surfaces while maintaining mesh quality with minimal geometric distortion. To evaluate its effectiveness, comparative studies between HFFD and conventional FFD methods are conducted, demonstrating superior performance in mesh quality and geometric fidelity. The HFFD-based framework is further applied to the Multidisciplinary Design Optimization(MDO)of a double-wall turbine blade leading edge. Results indicate an 11.6%increase in cooling efficiency and a 16.21%reduction in maximum stress.Additionally, compared to traditional geometry-based parameterization in MDO,the HFFD approach improves model processing efficiency by 84.15%and overall optimization efficiency by20.05%.These findings demonstrate HFFD's potential to significantly improve complex engineering design optimization by achieving precise shape preservation and improving computational efficiency.

文摘Digital modeling and autonomous control of the die forging process are significant challenges in realizing high-quality intelli-gent forging of components.Using the die forging of AA2014 aluminum alloy as a case study,a machine-learning-assisted method for di-gital modeling of the forging force and autonomous control in response to forging parameter disturbances was proposed.First, finite ele-ment simulations of the forging processes were conducted under varying friction factors, die temperatures, billet temperatures, and for-ging velocities, and the sample data, including process parameters and forging force under different forging strokes, were gathered.Pre-diction models for the forging force were established using the support vector regression algorithm. The prediction error of F_(f),that is,the forging force required to fill the die cavity fully, was as low as 4.1%.To further improve the prediction accuracy of the model for the ac-tual F_(f),two rounds of iterative forging experiments were conducted using the Bayesian optimization algorithm, and the prediction error of F_(f) in the forging experiments was reduced from 6.0%to 1.5%.Finally,the prediction model of F_(f) combined with a genetic algorithm was used to establish an autonomous optimization strategy for the forging velocity at each stage of the forging stroke, when the billet and die temperatures were disturbed, which realized the autonomous control in response to disturbances. In cases of−20 or−40℃ reductions in the die and billet temperatures, forging experiments conducted with the autonomous optimization strategy maintained the measured F_(f) around the target value of 180 t,with the relative error ranging from−1.3%to+3.1%.This work provides a reference for the study of di-gital modeling and autonomous optimization control of quality factors in the forging process.

文摘The high-order deformation effects in even-even^(246,248)No are investigated by means of pairing self-consistent WoodsSaxon-Strutinsky calculations using the potential-energy-surface(PES)approach in an extended deformation space(β_(2),β_(3),β_(4),β_(5),β_(6),β_(7),β_(8)).Based on the calculated two-dimensional projected energy maps and different potential energy curves,we found that the highly even-order deformations have an important impact on both the fission trajectory and energy minima, while the odd-order deformations, accompanying the even-order ones, primarily affect the fission path beyond the second barrier.Relative to the light actinide nuclei, the nuclear ground state changes to the superdeformed configuration, but the normally deformed minimum,as the low-energy shape isomer, may still be primarily responsible for enhancing nuclear stability and ensuring experimental accessibility in^(246,248)No.Our present investigation indicates the nonnegligible impact of high-order deformation effects along the fission valley and will be helpful for deepening the understanding of different deformation effects and deformation couplings in nuclei, especially in this neutron-deficient heavy-mass region.
文摘Sandwich functionally graded(FG)auxetic beams are extensively utilized in aerospace, automotive, and biomedical industries due to their excellent strength-toweight ratio, impact resistance, and tunable mechanical properties. The integration of FG materials with auxetic structures enhances their adaptability in advanced engineering applications. However, understanding their dynamic behavior under external excitations is essential for optimal design and structural reliability.Nonlinear interactions in such structures pose significant challenges in vibration analysis, necessitating robust analytical methods. This study presents a closed-form solution for the nonlinear forced vibration analysis of sandwich FG auxetic beams, offering an accurate and efficient method for predicting their dynamic response. The beam consists of two FG face sheets with material properties varying through the thickness and a re-entrant honeycomb auxetic core with an adjustable Poisson's ratio. The governing nonlinear equations of motion are derived using the first-order shear deformation theory(FSDT),the modified Gibson model, and the von Kármán relations, formulated through Hamilton's principle.A closed-form solution is obtained via the Galerkin method and multiple-scale technique. The results demonstrate that FG layers enable control of the overweight and dynamic response amplitude, with positive power law indexes reducing weight.Comparisons with finite element results confirm the accuracy of the proposed formulation.

文摘A new analytical model for geometric size and forming force prediction in incremental flanging(IF)is presented in this work. The complex deformation characteristics of IF are considered in the modeling process, which can accurately describe the strain and stress states in IF.Based on strain analysis, the model can predict the material thickness distribution and neck height after IF.By considering contact area, strain characteristics, material thickness changes, and friction, the model can predict specific moments and corresponding values of maximum axial forming force and maximum horizontal forming force during IF.In addition,an IF experiment involving different tool diameters, flanging diameters, and opening hole diameters is conducted. On the basis of the experimental strain paths, the strain characteristics of different deformation zones are studied, and the stable strain ratio is quantitatively described through two dimensionless parameters:relative tool diameter and relative hole diameter. Then, the changing of material thickness and forming force in IF,and the variation of minimum material thickness, neck height, maximum axial forming force, and maximum horizontal forming force with flanging parameters are studied, and the reliability of the analytical model is verified in this process. Finally, the influence of the horizontal forming force on the tool design and the fluctuation of the forming force are explained.

文摘We explore the potential of conducting an experiment in a low Earth orbit spacecraft and using the Earth as a spin and mass source to constrain beyond-the-standard-model(BSM)long-range spin-and velocity-dependent interactions, which are mediated by the exchange of an ultralight(m_(Z')<10^(-10)eV)or massless intermediate vector boson. The high speed of low-Earth-orbit spacecraft can enhance their sensitivity to velocity-dependent interactions. This periodicity enables efficient signal extraction from background noise, thereby improving the accuracy of the experiment.Combining these advantages,we theoretically demonstrate that the novel spacecraft-Earth model can improve the existing bounds on these exotic interactions by up to three orders of magnitude using the China Space Station(CSS)as a representative low-Earthorbit carrier. If successfully implemented, this model may provide an innovative strategy for detecting ultralight dark matter and yield tighter constraints on certain coupling constants of exotic interactions.

文摘Pipeline Inspection Gauge(pig)is an important equipment for oil and gas pipelines during different stages of their operations to perform functions such as dewatering, cleaning, and inspection.Owing to the hyperelasticity, time and temperature-dependent material behaviour of the sealing disc attached on the pig,the contact between the pig and the pipeline expresses complex behaviour, leading to an uncertainty in the prediction of the pig's frictional force.Knowing the deformation of the sealing discs well is essential and can be highly meaningful for predicting the pig motion,as well as reducing the pigging risks. In this study, the geometrical deformation of the sealing discs with different sizes are investigated through experiments and numerical simulations. The effects of the four nondimensionalized parameters(interference, thickness per pipeline inner diameter, and clamping ratio)of the sealing discs on the deformation behaviour were observed and discussed, and an improved mathematical model for predicting the geometrical deformation of the sealing discs was proposed and verified. With the auxiliary angleαadded in the improved mathematical model, the relative error declines to 1.87%and 3.18%respectively for predicting deformation of the sealing discs in size of 2-inch and 40-inch pig.The results of this study can help better understand the frictional force of a pig with sealing discs,as well as its motion.

文摘The prediction of the rolling force and thickness ratio plays an important role in the development and application of bimetallic composite plates. To analyze the rolling force of the bimetallic composite plate more accurately,a novel hypothesis based on Orowan's theory was proposed. The variation in the thickness of each differential element at different positions was considered to establish the analytical model.According to the characteristics of bimetallic composite plate rolling, the rolling deformation can be divided into forward and backward slip zones. The initial thickness ratio after rolling was predetermined by the thickness ratio before rolling;the rolling force balance of the upper and lower rollers was considered the convergence condition;and the final thickness ratio of the bimetallic composite plate was obtained by iterative calculation. The calculation results of the analytical model were compared with the measured and simulated data. The results showed that the errors in the calculation of the rolling force and thickness ratio were both less than 10%.The analytical model has high precision, meets engineering requirements, and has important reference significance for rolling process optimization and thickness ratio prediction.

文摘Current hyperelastic constitutive models of hydrogels face difficulties in capturing the stress-strain behaviors of hydrogels under extremely large deformation because the effect of non-affine deformation of the polymer network inside is ambiguous. In this work,we construct periodic random network(PRN)models for the effective polymer network in hydrogels and investigate the non-affine deformation of polymer chains intrinsically originates from the structural randomness from bottom up.The non-affine deformation in PRN models is manifested as the actual stretch of polymer chains randomly deviated from the chain stretch predicted by affine assumption, and quantified by a non-affine ratio of each polymer chain. It is found that the non-affine ratios of polymer chains are closely related to bulk deformation state, chain orientation, and initial chain elongation.By fitting the non-affine ratio of polymer chains in all PRN models,we propose a non-affine constitutive model for the hydrogel polymer network based on micro-sphere model. The stress-strain curves of the proposed constitutive models under uniaxial tension condition agree with the simulation results of different PRN models of hydrogels very well.

文摘The surrogate model serves as an efficient simulation tool during the slope parameter inversion process. However, the creep constitutive model integrated with dynamic damage evolution poses challenges in development of the required surrogate model. In this study,a novel physics knowledge-based surrogate model framework is proposed. In this framework,a Transformer module is employed to capture straindriven softening-hardening physical mechanisms.Positional encoding and self-attention are utilized to transform the constitutive parameters associated with shear strain, which are not directly time-related,into intermediate latent features for physical loss calculation.Next,a multi-layer stacked GRU(gated recurrent unit)network is built to provide input interfaces for time-dependent intermediate latent features, hydraulic boundary conditions, and water-rock interaction degradation equations, with static parameters introduced via external fully-connected layers. Finally,a combined loss function is constructed to facilitate the collaborative training of physical and data loss, introducing time-dependent weight adjustments to focus the surrogate model on accurate deformation predictions during critical phases.Based on the deformation of a reservoir bank landslide triggered by impoundment and subsequent restabilization,an elasto-viscoplastic constitutive model that considers water effect and sliding state dependencies is developed to validate the proposed surrogate model framework. The results indicate that the framework exhibits good performance in capturing physical mechanisms and predicting creep behavior, reducing errors by about 30 times compared to baseline models such as GRU and LSTM(long short-term memory),meeting the precision requirements for parameter inversion.Ablation experiments also confirmed the effectiveness of the framework. This framework can also serve as a reference for constructing other creep surrogate models that involve non-time-related across dimensions.

文摘To investigate the temperature susceptibility and nonlinear memory effects of artificially frozen soil creep behavior, this study conducted uniaxial step-loading creep tests under controlled temperatures ranging from-10℃to-20℃.The transient creep characteristics and steady-state creep rates of artificially frozen soils were systematically examined with respect to variations in temperature and stress.Experimental results demonstrate that decreasing temperatures lead to a decaying trend in the steady-state creep rate of silty frozen soil, confirming that low-temperature environments significantly inhibit plastic flow while enhancing material stiffness.Based on fractional calculus theory,a fractional derivative creep model was established.By incorporating temperature dependencies, the model was further improved to account for both stress and temperature effects. The model predictions align closely with experimental data, achieving over 91%agreement(standard deviation±1.8%),and effectively capture the stress-strain behavior of artificially frozen soil under varying thermal conditions. This research provides a reliable theoretical foundation for studying deformation characteristics in cold-regions engineering.

文摘This article, in order to unearth the deformation mechanism of particle reinforced metal matrix composites, establishes a finite element model (FEM) based on the actual microstructures. It finds out and analyzes the distribution of von Mises effective stress, strain and the maximum principal stress in the matrix and particles. Moreover, the overall stress and strain in the matrix and composites are calculated. By comparison, a tiny discrepancy exists between the experimental results and the simulation with respect to flow stresses. The effects of deformation parameters, such as temperature and strain rate, on the strengthening mechanism are explored and proved to be weak.
