The traditional conductive performance test techniques are challenging due to the unaffordable cost and high complexity when testing a large number of antennas. To solve this problem, the over-the-air (OTA) test has been presented, in which probe selection is the key to reduce the number of channel emulators and probes. In this paper, a novel artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm is introduced to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of probe selection procedure. A sectoring- based multi-probe anechoic chamber (MPAC) is built to evaluate the throughput performance of massive MIMO equipped in 5G BS. In addition, link level simulation is carried out to evaluate the proposal’s performance gain under the commercial network assumptions, where the average throughput of three velocity is given with different SNR region. The results suggest that OTA chamber and multi-probe wall are available not only for 5G BSs, but also for user equipments (UEs) with end-to-end communication.展开更多

A client, server codes were developed using FreeBSD. This is a step before analyzing the Architectures of VoIPv6 in the current internet in order for it to cope with IPv6 traffic transmission requirements in general and specifically voice traffic, which is being attracting the efforts of research, bodes currently. These tests were conducted in the application level without looking into the network level of the network. VoIPv6 performance tests were conducted in the current tunneled and native IPv6 aiming for better end-to-end VoIPv6 performance. The results obtained in this study were shown in deferent codec's for different bit rates in Kilo bits per second, which act as an indicator for the better performance of G.711 compared with the rest of the tested codes.展开更多

Comparison of incremental dynamic analysis results for both directions of the platform shows that the lateral strength of the platform in the float over direction is less than its lateral strength in other direction. Dynamic characteristics measurement of a scale model of platform was also performed using forced vibration tests. From experimental measurement of the scaled model, it was observed that dynamic characteristic of the platform is different in the float over direction compared to the other direction. Therefore, a new offshore installed bracing system for the float over direction was proposed for improvement of seismic performance of this type of platform. Finally, the structure with the modified system was assessed using the probabilistic seismic assessment method as well as experimental measurement of its dynamic characteristics. It was observed that the proposed offshore installed bracing system improves the performance of platforms subjected to strong ground motion.展开更多

Several count data models have been proposed by researchers but the problem of over-dispersion still remains unresolved, more so in the context of change point analysis. This study develops a likelihood-based algorithm that detects and estimates multiple change points in a set of count data assumed to follow the Negative Binomial distribution. Discrete change point procedures discussed in literature work well for equi-dispersed data. The new algorithm produces reliable estimates of change points in cases of both equi-dispersed and over-dispersed count data;hence its advantage over other count data change point techniques. The Negative Binomial Multiple Change Point Algorithm was tested using simulated data for different sample sizes and varying positions of change. Changes in the distribution parameters were detected and estimated by conducting a likelihood ratio test on several partitions of data obtained through step-wise recursive binary segmentation. Critical values for the likelihood ratio test were developed and used to check for significance of the maximum likelihood estimates of the change points. The change point algorithm was found to work best for large datasets, though it also works well for small and medium-sized datasets with little to no error in the location of change points. The algorithm correctly detects changes when present and fails to detect changes when change is absent in actual sense. Power analysis of the likelihood ratio test for change was performed through Monte-Carlo simulation in the single change point setting. Sensitivity analysis of the test power showed that likelihood ratio test is the most powerful when the simulated change points are located mid-way through the sample data as opposed to when changes were located in the periphery. Further, the test is more powerful when the change was located three-quarter-way through the sample data compared to when the change point is closer (quarter-way) to the first observation.展开更多
