Amid the global wave of digital government transformation,China and the United States have pursued markedly different development paths.This paper investigates the fundamental differences between the two countries'...Amid the global wave of digital government transformation,China and the United States have pursued markedly different development paths.This paper investigates the fundamental differences between the two countries'approaches in terms of top-level design,technological applications,public participation,and the impact on privacy rights,as well as the underlying logic behind these differences.Through comparative case studies and policy text analysis,the research focuses on China's"Health Code"and"One-Stop Online Services,"alongside the EU's GDPR and California's CCPA as core cases.The main findings are as follows:China's path is state-led and efficiency-oriented,producing highly effective governance tools but facing the risk of a"Digital Leviathan";the U.S./EU path prioritizes rights and checks and balances,building a"Digital Commons"at the potential cost of efficiency.Both approaches must confront their respective challenges and explore avenues for dialogue and mutual learning.展开更多
Amo Schmidt's tripartite Leviathan(1949;written 1946-1948)is one of the few German narratives composed immediately after World War II.Different from the then newly-propagated Triimmerliteratur(literature among the...Amo Schmidt's tripartite Leviathan(1949;written 1946-1948)is one of the few German narratives composed immediately after World War II.Different from the then newly-propagated Triimmerliteratur(literature among the ruins)or the literature of Vergangenheitsbewaltigung(coping with the past),Schmidt's writing condensed and“dehydrated”narrative events,weaving antiquity and his personal experience into one in order to lay bare historical lines of continuity.Relating to Pytheas of Marsilia,to an ethics based on praxis and to modem physics,he undertakes a demanding topography of“hell descents”within which he also put into doubt political and academic demands upon a cultural legacy that was,to him,anything but timeless.The essay explores Schmidt's didactic,innovative use of allegory and other rhetorical devices as tools for understanding long-term consequences of failures of interpretation and forceful restrictions on the play of imagination.展开更多
William Golding,the Nobel Prize winner,depicts civilization and savagery,democracy and anarchy,reconstruction and destruction vividly in his masterpiece Lord of the Flies.Providing a more cogent interpretation of Lord...William Golding,the Nobel Prize winner,depicts civilization and savagery,democracy and anarchy,reconstruction and destruction vividly in his masterpiece Lord of the Flies.Providing a more cogent interpretation of Lord of the Flies,this thesis is intended to demonstrate and analyze the descriptive construction of society from the perspective of political philosophy.Following the view of Thomas Hobbes'theory,the thesis makes a comparison between Lord of the Flies and Leviathan by focusing on state of na-ture,law of nature,social contract and common wealth.The study reveals that the commonwealth originates from a conflict that the contradiction in human nature.Hence considering the evil nature of human beings,the state of commonwealth is indispensable for hu-man existence and sustainability which arouse the reflection of the civilization order and regime.展开更多
