In this study, cement, an alkaline solution, and glass fiber were used to reinforce GRS. The effects of cement content and SiO_(2)/Na2O ratio of the alkaline solution on the static and dynamic strengths of GRS were discussed. Microscopically, the reinforcement mechanism and coupling effect were examined using X-ray diffraction (XRD), micro-computed tomography (micro-CT), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results indicated that the addition of 2% cement and an alkaline solution with an SiO_(2)/Na2O ratio of 0.5 led to the densest matrix, lowest porosity, and highest static compressive strength, which was 4994 kPa with a dynamic impact resistance of 75.4 kN after adding glass fiber. The compressive strength and dynamic impact resistance were a result of the coupling effect of cement hydration, a pozzolanic reaction of clay minerals in the GRS, and the alkali activation of clay minerals. Excessive cement addition or an excessively high SiO_(2)/Na2O ratio in the alkaline solution can have negative effects, such as the destruction of C-(A)-S-H gels by the alkaline solution and hindering the production of N-A-S-H gels. This can result in damage to the matrix of reinforced GRS, leading to a decrease in both static and dynamic strengths. This study suggests that further research is required to gain a more precise understanding of the effects of this mixture in terms of reducing our carbon footprint and optimizing its properties. The findings indicate that cement and alkaline solution are appropriate for GRS and that the reinforced GRS can be used for high-strength foundation and embankment construction. The study provides an analysis of strategies for mitigating and managing GRS slope failures, as well as enhancing roadbed performance.展开更多

Simulation results show that asymmetric coupling has a significant impact on synchronization conditions. Moreover, it is observed that irrespective of whether the system is confined, an increase in coupling asymmetry leads to a hastened synchronization pace. Additionally, the study examines the effects of boundaries on the system's collective behaviors via numerical experiments. The presence of boundaries ensures the system's stability and synchronization, and reducing these boundaries can expedite the synchronization process and amplify its effects. Finally, the study reveals that the system's output amplitude exhibits stochastic resonance as the confined boundary size increases.展开更多

文摘The past decade has witnessed the rapid increasement in power conversion efficiency of perovskite solar cells(PSCs).However, serious ion migration hampers their operational stability.Although dopants composed of varied cations and anions are introduced into perovskite to suppress ion migration, the impact of cations or anions is not individually explored, which hinders the evaluation of different cations and further application of doping strategy. Here we report that a special group of sulfonic anions(like CF_(3)SO_(3)^(-))successfully introduce alkaline earth ions(like Ca^(2+))into perovskite lattice compared to its halide counterparts.Furthermore, with effective crystallization regulation and defect passivation of sulfonic anions, perovskite with Ca(CF_(3)SO_(3))_(2)shows reduced PbI2 residue and metallic Pb0 defects;thereby, corresponding PSCs show an enhanced PCE of 24.95%.Finally by comparing the properties of perovskite with Ca(CF_(3)SO_(3))_(2)and FACF_(3)SO_(3),we found that doped Ca^(2+)significantly suppressed halide migration with an activation energy of 1.246 eV which accounts for the improved operational stability of Ca(CF_(3)SO_(3))_(2-)doped PSCs,while no obvious impact of Ca^(2+)on trap density is observed.Combining the benefits of cations and anions, this study presents an effective method to decouple the effects of cations and anions and fabricate efficient and stable PSCs.

文摘This paper introduces a bond-based peridynamics(BB-PD)algorithm for crack identification, integrating the Delaunay triangulation method to accurately identify the structural characteristics of threedimensional(3D)cracks in rocks.A bond-based crack quantification standard is proposed to analyze the evolution of cracks of various sizes.A multi-attribute peridynamic model, developed using a multilayer algorithm, was employed to simulate the fracturing process of sandstone disks and semi-disks under varying temperatures, with the model calibrated and validated against experimental results. The simulation results show that temperature induces nonlinear degradation in the tensile strength and fracture toughness of sandstone, with 500℃ identified as the threshold temperature.Thermal cracks exhibit varying degrees of influence on Mode I cracks across different temperature ranges.Thermal damage significantly promotes the initiation and propagation of Mode I cracks in sandstone, thereby reducing its tensile strength and fracture toughness.Under applied loads, crack propagation in sandstone predominantly occurs during the failure stage, characterized by the rapid growth of longer cracks and a slow increase or reduction in shorter cracks.

文摘This paper investigates the adhesive nanocontact behavior of an elastic halfplane indented by a rigid cylindrical indenter, incorporating the simultaneous effects of surface elasticity, couple stresses, and adhesion. The free surface of the half-plane is modeled by the Steigmann-Ogden surface elasticity theory, while the bulk material behavior is described by the classical couple-stress elasticity theory. The adhesion at the contact interface is characterized by the Maugis-Dugdale(MD)adhesive contact model.Building on the fundamental nonclassical Flamant solution, the governing equations and boundary conditions of the nanocontact problem are reformulated into a system of triple integral equations. These equations are solved numerically by the Gauss-Chebyshev quadratures in combination with an iterative algorithm. The validation against the existing literature confirms the accuracy and robustness of the proposed solution methodology.Comprehensive parametric studies are performed to elucidate the critical roles of surface elasticity and couple stresses in adhesive nanocontact. The numerical results provide insights into the complex interactions among surface,couple-stress,and adhesive effects.Specifically, the interplay between the surface and adhesive effects is predominantly competitive, while the interaction between the couple stresses and adhesion exhibits an intricate nature. The findings highlight the necessity of simultaneously considering surface elasticity, couple stresses, and adhesion in nanoindentation analyses to achieve accurate predictions of material responses.

文摘Enhancing plasma uniformity can be achieved by modifying coil and chamber structures in radio frequency inductively coupled plasma(ICP)to meet the demand for large-area and uniformly distributed plasma in industrial manufacturing. This study utilized a two-dimensional self-consistent fluid model to investigate how different coil configurations and chamber aspect ratios affect the radial uniformity of plasma in radio frequency ICP.The findings indicate that optimizing the radial spacing of the coil enhances plasma uniformity but with a reduction in electron density.Furthermore, optimizing the coil within the ICP reactor, using the interior point method in the Interior Point Optimizer significantly enhances plasma uniformity, elevating it from 56%to 96%within the range of the model sizes.Additionally, when the chamber aspect ratio k changes from 2.8 to 4.7,the plasma distribution changes from a center-high to a saddleshaped distribution. Moreover, the plasma uniformity becomes worse. Finally, adjusting process parameters, such as increasing source power and gas pressure, can enhance plasma uniformity. These findings contribute to optimizing the etching process by improving plasma radial uniformity.

文摘Rock shed is an effective protection measure against rockfall. To investigate the influences of falling rock’s shape and impact angle on the impact effect of the cushioned rock shed,a modeling approach for a rock shed with a cushion layer using PFC-FLAC.The granular cushion is modeled as an aggregate of discrete non-cohesion particles, while the concrete plate and the beam are modeled as zones. The falling rock with different sphericities and impact angles is modeled as a rigid assembly. The numerical model is validated by comparing the simulation results with experimental and numerical results from previous literature. This model is applied to analyze the effects of rock shape and impact angle on the dynamic interaction effects between falling rock and cushioned rock shed, including the impact force, transmitted bottom force, penetration depth, and plate deflection. The numerical results show that the variation in the falling rock’s shape has different effects on the falling rock with different impact angles. These findings could support rock shed design by revealing the limitations of the assumptions in the past research, which may result in unsafe rock sheds for some rockfall cases.

文摘Granite residual soil (GRS) is a type of weathering soil that can decompose upon contact with water, potentially causing geological hazards. The study provides an analysis of strategies for mitigating and managing GRS slope failures, as well as enhancing roadbed performance.
文摘During the propagation of high-power lasers within internal channels, the laser beam heats the propagation medium, causing the thermal blooming effect that degrades the beam quality at the output. The intricate configuration of the optical path within the internal channel necessitates complex and time-consuming efforts to assess the impact of thermal blooming effect on the optical path.To meet the engineering need for rapid evaluation of thermal blooming effect in optical paths, this study proposed a rapid simulation method for the thermal blooming effect in internal optical paths based on the finite element method. This method discretized the fluid region into infinitesimal elements and employed finite element method for flow field analysis.A simplified analytical model of the flow field region in complex internal channels was established, and regions with similar thermal blooming effect were divided within this model.Based on the calculated optical path differences within these regions, numerical simulations of phase distortion caused by thermal blooming were conducted. The calculated result were compared with those obtained using the existing methods. The findings reveal that for complex optical paths, the discrepancy between the two approaches is less than 3.6%,with similar phase distortion patterns observed. For L-type units, this method and the existing methods identify the same primary factors influencing aberrations and exhibit consistent trends in their variation. This method was used to analyze the impact of thermal blooming effect in a straight channel under different gravity directions. The results show that phase distortion varies with changes in the direction of gravity, and the magnitude of the phase difference is strongly correlated with the component of gravity perpendicular to the optical axis.Compared to the existing methods, this approach offers greater flexibility, obviates the need for complex custom analysis programming. The analytical results of this method enable a rapid assessment of the thermal blooming effect in optical paths within the internal channel. This is especially useful during the engineering design. These results also provide crucial references for developing strategies to suppress thermal blooming effect.

文摘This study investigates the dynamical behaviors of nearest neighbor asymmetric coupled systems in a confined space.First, the study derivative analytical stability and synchronization conditions for the asymmetrically coupled system in an unconfined space, which are then validated through numerical simulations. Finally, the study reveals that the system's output amplitude exhibits stochastic resonance as the confined boundary size increases.

文摘The driving effects of climate change and human activities on vegetation change have always been a focal point of research. However, the coupling mechanisms of these driving factors across different temporal and spatial scales remain controversial. The Southwestern Alpine Canyon Region of China(SACR),as an ecologically fragile area,is highly sensitive to the impacts of climate change and human activities. This study constructed a vegetation cover dataset for the SACR based on the Enhanced Vegetation Index(EVI)from 2000 to 2020.Spatial autocorrelation,Theil-Sen trend, and Mann-Kendall tests were used to analyze the spatiotemporal characteristics of vegetation cover changes. The main drivers of spatial heterogeneity in vegetation cover were identified using the optimal parameter geographic detector, and an improved residual analysis model was employed to quantify the relative contributions of climate change and human activities to interannual vegetation cover changes. The main findings are as follows:Spatially, vegetation cover exceeds 60%in most areas, especially in the southern part of the study area. However, the border area between Linzhi and Changdu exhibits lower vegetation cover.Climate factors are the primary drivers of spatial heterogeneity in vegetation cover, with temperature having the most significant influence,as indicated by its q-value,which far exceeds that of other factors.Additionally, the interaction q-value between the two factors significantly increases, showing a relationship of bivariate enhancement and nonlinear enhancement. In terms of temporal changes, vegetation cover shows an overall improving trend from 2000 to 2020,with significant increases observed in 68.93%of the study area.Among these, human activities are the main factors driving vegetation cover change, with a relative contribution rate of 41.31%,while climate change and residual factors contribute 35.66%and 23.53%,respectively.By thoroughly exploring the coupled mechanisms of vegetation change, this study provides important references for the sustainable management and conservation of the vegetation ecosystem in the SACR.

文摘The dual cylindrical inductively coupled plasma source, compared to the conventional structure of inductively coupled plasma source, can significantly improve the uniformity of plasma. It has an enhanced potential for application in processes, such as etching and ashing.A uniform plasma can be obtained by allowing the remote plasma from the upper chamber modulate the main plasma generated in the lower chamber. In this study,a fluid model was employed to investigate a dual cylindrical inductively coupled Ar/O_(2)discharge.The effects of external parameters on electron density, electron temperature,O atomic density, and plasma uniformity in the main chamber were studied, and the reasons were analyzed. The results of this study show that remote power can control the plasma uniformity and increase the plasma density in the main chamber. As the remote power increased, plasma uniformity improved initially and then deteriorated. The main power affected the plasma density at the edge of the main chamber and can modulate the plasma density in the main chamber. The gas pressure affected both the uniformity and density of the plasma. As the gas pressure increased, the plasma uniformity deteriorated, but the free radical density improved.

文摘The effect of a negative DC bias,|V_(dc)|,on the electrical parameters and discharge mode is investigated experimentally in a radiofrequency(RF)capacitively coupled Ar plasma operated at different RF voltage amplitudes and gas pressures. The electron density is measured using a hairpin probe and the spatio-temporal distribution of the electron-impact excitation rate is determined by phase-resolved optical emission spectroscopy. The electrical parameters are obtained based on the waveforms of the electrode voltage and plasma current measured by a voltage probe and a current probe. It was found that at a low|V_(dc)|,i.e.inα-mode,the electron density and RF current decline with increasing|V_(dc)|;meanwhile,the plasma impedance becomes more capacitive due to a widened sheath. Therefore,RF power deposition is suppressed.When|V_(dc)|exceeds a certain value, the plasma changes toα–γhybrid mode(or the discharge becomes dominated by theγ-mode),manifesting a drastically growing electron density and a moderately increasing RF current.Meanwhile, the plasma impedance becomes more resistive,so RF power deposition is enhanced with|V_(dc)|.We also found that the electrical parameters show similar dependence on|V_(dc)|at different RF voltages, andα–γmode transition occurs at a lower|V_(dc)|at a higher RF voltage.By increasing the pressure, plasma impedance becomes more resistive,so RF power deposition and electron density are enhanced. In particular, theα–γmode transition tends to occur at a lower|V_(dc)|with increase in pressure.

文摘In unconsolidated sandstone reservoirs, presence of numerous movable grains and a complex grain size composition necessitates a clear understanding of the physical clogging process for effective groundwater recharge in groundwater-source heat pump systems. To investigate this,a series of seepage experiments was conducted under in situ stress conditions using unconsolidated sandstone samples with varying grain compositions. The clogging phenomenon arises from the combined effects of grain migration and compaction, wherein the migration of both original and secondary crushed fine-grain particles blocks the seepage channels.Notably, grain composition influences the migration and transport properties of the grains. For samples composed of smaller grains, the apparent permeability demonstrates a transition from stability to decrease. In contrast, samples with larger grains experience a skip at the stability stage and directly enter the decrease stage, with a minor exception of a slight increase observed.Furthermore,a unique failure mode characterized by diameter shrinkage in the upper part of the sample is observed due to the combined effects of grain migration and in situ stress-induced compaction. These testing results contribute to a better understanding of the clogging mechanism caused by the coupled effects of grain migration and compaction during groundwater recharge in unconsolidated sandstone reservoirs used in groundwater-source heat pump systems.

文摘This paper presents an improved level set method for topology optimization of geometrically nonlinear structures accounting for the effect of thermo-mechanical couplings. It derives a new expression for element coupling stress resulting from the combination of mechanical and thermal loading, using geometric nonlinear finite element analysis.A topological model is then developed to minimize compliance while meeting displacement and frequency constraints to fulfill design requirements of structural members.Since the conventional Lagrange multiplier search method is unable to handle convergence instability arising from large deformation,a novel Lagrange multiplier search method is proposed.Additionally, the proposed method can be extended to multi-constrained geometrically nonlinear topology optimization, accommodating multiple physical field couplings.

文摘Based on the rapid advancements in nanomaterials and nanotechnology, the Nanofluidic Reverse Electrodialysis(NRED)has attracted significant attention as an innovative and promising energy conversion strategy for extracting sustainable and clean energy fromthe salinity gradient energy. However, the scarcity of research investigating the intricate multi-factor coupling effects on the energy conversion performance, especially the trade-offs between ion selectivity and mass transfer in nanochannels,of NRED poses a great challenge to achieving breakthroughs in energy conversion processes. This numerical study innovatively investigates the multi-factor coupling effect of three critical operational factors, including the nanochannel configuration, the temperature field, and the concentration difference,on the energy conversion processes of NRED.In this work,a dimensionless amplitude parameter s is introduced to emulate the randomly varied wall configuration of nanochannels that inherently occur in practical applications, thereby enhancing the realism and applicability of our analysis.Numerical results reveal that the application of a temperature gradient, which is oriented in opposition to the concentration gradient, enhances the ion transportation and selectivity simultaneously, leading to an enhancement in both output power and energy conversion efficiency.Additionally, the increased fluctuation of the nanochannel wall from s=0 to s=0.08 improves ion selectivity yet raises ion transport resistance, resulting in an enhancement in output power and energy conversion efficiency but a slight reduction in current.Furthermore, with increasing the concentration ratio cH/cL from 10 to 1000,either within a fixed temperature field or at a constant dimensionless amplitude, the maximumpower consistently attains its optimal value at a concentration ratio of 100 but the cation transfer number experiences amonotonic decrease across this entire range of concentration ratios. Finally, uponmodifying the operational parameters fromthe baseline condition of s=0,c_(H)/c_(L)=10,andΔT=0 K to the targetedconditionof s=0.08,c_(H)/c_(L)=50,andΔT=25 K,there is a concerted improvement observed in the open-circuit potential,short-circuit current, andmaximumpower, with respective increments of 8.86%,204.97%,and 232.01%,but a reduction in cation transfer number with a notable decrease of 15.37%.
