Epidemiological studies have associated phthalate metabolites with decreased reproductive parameters and linked phthalate exposure with the level of urinary 5-methyl-2′-deoxycytidine(5mdC, a product of methylated DNA). In this study, adult male mice were exposed to 450 mg di-isobutyl phthalate(DiBP)/(kg·day) via dietary exposure for 28 days. Mono-isobutyl phthalate(Mi BP, the urinary metabolite) and reproductive function parameters were determined. The levels of 5mdC and 5-hydroxymethyl-2′-deoxycytidine(5hmdC) were measured in urine to evaluate if their contents were also altered by DiBP exposure in this animal model. Results showed that DiBP exposure led to a significant increase in the urinary 5mdC level and significant decreases in sperm concentration and motility in the epididymis, accompanied with reduced testosterone levels and downregulation of the P450 cholesterol side-chain cleavage enzyme(P450scc) gene in the mice testes. Our findings indicated that exposure to DiBP increased the urinary 5mdC levels,which supported our recent epidemiological study about the associations of urinary 5mdC with phthalate exposure in the male human population. In addition, DiBP exposure impaired male reproductive function, possibly by disturbing testosterone levels; P450scc might be a major steroidogenic enzyme targeted by DiBP or other phthalates.展开更多

In this work, the B3LYP hybrid density functional method was used to investigate the adsorption behavior of methanol on Bronsted acid sites in B, Al, Ga and Fe isomorphously substituted ZSM-5 zeolites. The optimized structures reveal a physisorbed methanol interacting with the zeolite framework through two hydrogen bonds. The order of the computed adsorption energy correlates with the acid strength of the isomorphously substituted ZSM-5: B-ZSM-5《Fe-ZSM-5<Ga-ZSM-5<Al-ZSM-5. The Zenith Hydrostatic Delay(ZHD)is essential for high-precision Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)and Very Long Baseline Interferometry(VLBI)data processing.Accurate estimation of ZHD relies on in situ atmosphe...The Zenith Hydrostatic Delay(ZHD)is essential for high-precision Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)and Very Long Baseline Interferometry(VLBI)data processing.Accurate estimation of ZHD relies on in situ atmospheric pressure,which is primarily variable in the vertical direction.Current atmospheric pressure is either site-specific or has limited spatial coverage,necessitating vertical corrections for broader applicability.This study introduces a model that uses a Gaussian function for the vertical correction of atmospheric pressure when in situ meteorological observations are unavailable.Validation with the fifth-generation European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts reanalysis(ERA5)reveals an average Bias and RMS for the new model of 0.31 h Pa and 2.96 h Pa,respectively.This corresponds to improvements of 37.5%and 80.3%in terms of RMS compared to two commonly used models(T0and Tvmodels)that require in situ meteorological observations,respectively.Additional validation with radiosonde data shows an average Bias and RMS of 1.85 h Pa and 4.87 h Pa,corresponding to the improvement of 42.8%and 71.1%in RMS compared with T0and Tv models,respectively.These accuracies are sufficient for calculating ZHD to an accuracy of 1 mm by performing atmospheric pressure vertical correction.The new model can correct atmospheric pressure from meteorological stations or numerical weather forecasts to different heights of the troposphere.展开更多

However, the physiological mechanisms responsible for this phenomenon remain poorly understood. The present study analyzed 12 ischemic stroke patients, who were randomly assigned to two groups: one group underwent sham needling and true needling at the Waiguan (SJ 5) in the healthy upper limb and the other group underwent sham and true needling at a sham point. Functional magnetic resonance imaging results showed no activation points in brain tissues following needling at SJ 5. However, compared with sham needling at SJ 5, true needling at SJ 5 deactivated Broadmann 4, 6, 24, and 32 areas. In addition, compared to needling at the sham point, true needling at SJ 5 deactivated bilateral hypothalamus. Results demonstrated that SJ 5 needling in the healthy upper limb resulted in specific directional brain action, as manifested by deactivation of cerebral areas related to motor (Broadmann 4 and 6), emotion (hypothalamus), and cognition (Broadmann 24, 32).展开更多
