文摘Dear Editor,For the past few decades,mosquito-borne orthoflaviviruses, such as dengue virus,Zika virus, and West Nile virus(WNV),have posed significant threats to global public health. The Orthoflavivirus genus comprises more than 70 viruses, many of which are responsible for a wide range of diseases in humans and animals, including febrile illnesses, encephalitis, and hemorrhagic febrile illness. These viruses are associated with approximately 400 million infections and 100 million symptomatic cases worldwide each year(Van Leur et al.,2021).Among them,Usutu virus(USUV)is an emerging pathogen classified alongside WNV within the Japanese encephalitis virus(JEV)serogroup of the Orthoflavivirus genus, the Flaviviridae family.USUV has spread from Africa to Europe since the late 20th century. It primarily causes central nervous system disorders in birds, with several large-scale mortality events recorded in Europe.USUV can also infect humans,it typically leads to neurological complications in rare cases(Roesch et al.,2019).

文摘BACKGROUND Older patients often experience thirst after general anesthesia for gastrointestinal surgery, particularly during the post-anesthesia care unit(PACU)phase.Thirst not only compromises patient comfort but also induces anxiety, which may hinder recovery.Although previous studies have addressed postoperative thirst, research specifically examining thirst experiences and nursing needs in older patients remains limited.AIM To explore thirst experiences and nursing needs of older PACU patients following gastrointestinal surgery, aiming to inform targeted interventions.METHODS This study employed a phenomenological approach within a qualitative research framework.A purposeful sampling method was used to select 12 older patients who underwent gastrointestinal surgery under general anesthesia at a tertiary hospital in Shanghai between November and December 2024.Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using Colaizzi’s seven-step method.Themes were extracted from the interview data.RESULTS Analysis of the interview data identified four main themes and eight subthemes:(1)Intense sensations of thirst post-surgery(subjective experience of thirst and duration of thirst);(2)Emotional experiences of thirst-related discomfort(anxiety, irritability, and helplessness);(3)Practical challenges in relieving thirst(limitations of current interventions and nursing response time);and(4)Patient expectations of nursing care(desire for more timely interventions and expectation for more proactive attention from nursing staff).CONCLUSION Older patients frequently experience substantial thirst discomfort after gastrointestinal surgery under general anesthesia.A multidisciplinary perioperative intervention plan is essential to alleviate these symptoms and enhance postoperative comfort.

文摘This study aims to increase the photoactivity of ZnSnO_(3)by modifying it with zeolitic imidazolate framework-8(ZIF-8).The composite catalyst was prepared by a straightforward hydrothermal method using ZnSnO_(3)as the zinc source. The in-situ generated ZnSnO_(3)/ZIF-8 composite exhibits a strong interaction between ZnSnO_(3)and ZIF-8,which benefits electron transfer.Band structure analysis shows that ZIF-8 has a higher conduction band and a lower valence band than ZnSnO_(3),and cannot form a typical heterojunction. However, defects in ZIF-8 may act as electron traps, accepting electrons from the conduction band of ZnSnO_(3).This atypical heterojunction results in the spatial separation of charge carriers within the composite. The transient photocurrent response, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and photoluminescence analysis confirmed this hypothesis.Meanwhile,ZIF-8 also plays a role in adsorbing dyes and concentrating reactants due to its extremely high specific surface area. Therefore, the ZnSnO_(3)/ZIF-8 composite exhibits significantly improved photocatalytic performance in Rhodamine B degradation. The degradation rate of the best sample was 10.4 times that of ZnSnO_(3).Active species capture experiments showed that holes and superoxide radicals were the main active species.Additionally, the ZnSnO_(3)/ZIF-8 composite showed enhanced photocatalytic activity in CO_(2)reduction.This study may show new insights into the design of efficient photocatalytic materials using metal-organic framework materials.

文摘The occurrence and progression of liver cancer are closely associated with mitochondrial dysfunction.Mitochondria exhibit characteristics, such as decreased oxidative phosphorylation efficiency, abnormal accumulation of reactive oxygen species in liver cancer and promoting tumor proliferation and drug resistance through the Warburg effect,as the core of energy metabolism and apoptosis regulation.Mutations in mitochondrial DNA(mtDNA)and dysregulation of mitochondrial autophagy(mitophagy)further enhance the invasive and metastatic capabilities of liver cancer.Current targeted therapeutic strategies focus on modulating the activity of respiratory chain complexes, regulating calcium homeostasis, repairing mtDNA,and activating mitochondrial apoptotic pathways.Although these approaches have shown therapeutic effects, challenges persist, such as tumor heterogeneity, insufficient drug specificity, and drug resistance.Future research needs to integrate the concept of precision medicine by focusing on breakthroughs in the molecular mechanisms underlying mitochondrial dysfunction, development of targeted delivery systems, optimization of combination therapy regimens, and screening of biomarkers to provide new pathways for individualized treatment. With advances in technology, targeting mitochondrial dysfunction is expected to become an important breakthrough for improving the prognosis of liver cancer.

文摘BACKGROUND The two-way,three-stage psychological intervention for patients with dental pulp disease offers a reference for nursing interventions in such cases.AIM To examine the effects of a three-stage psychological intervention on psychological resilience and health behaviors.METHODS A total of 114 patients with dental pulp disease treated between December 2022 and December 2023 were allocated into two groups according to the random lottery method, with 57 patients in each group. The control group adopted the teaching method, while the observation group used a three-stage psychological intervention combined with the teaching method. We compared psychological resilience, coping strategies, dental fear, health behavior habits, and stigma between the two groups.RESULTS The intervention group showed significantly improved scores on the psychological resilience scale(Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale)(P<0.05);positive and negative response scores also improved after the intervention(P<0.05);significant differences were observed between the observation and control groups in the Chinese version of the Stouthard Dental Fear Scale(Dental Anxiety Inventory),the Social Impact Scale, and health behavior score(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Combining a three-stage psychological intervention with the back-teaching method effectively reduces dental fear and stigma in patients with dental pulp disease. It also improves psychological resilience, coping strategies, and health behavior habits, achieving significant results.
文摘Objective To evaluate the impact of endometrial polyps(EP)on postoperative pregnancy outcomes in infertile women with endometriosis(EMs).Methods PubMed,Embase,The Cochrane Library,CNKI,VIP,SinoMed,and WanFang Data databases were searched to include clinical studies on the effect of EP on pregnancy outcomes in patients with EMs,published before August 31,2020.A meta-analysis was performed using Rev Man 5.3 software after two investigators independently screened the literature, extracted information, and evaluated the risk of bias of the included studies. Results The meta-analysis included ten studies(651 and 1,040 in the combined EP and uncomplicated EP groups, respectively). The spontaneous pregnancy rate, clinical pregnancy rate, and live birth rate were significantly lower in the group with combined EPs than in the group without combined EPs[Odd’s ratio(OR)=0.63,95%confidence interval(CI):0.50–0.80,P=0.0001;OR=0.63,95%CI:0.48–0.84,P=0.001;OR=0.63,95%CI:0.42–0.96,P=0.03],and the rate of embryonic abortion was significantly higher than that in the uncomplicated EP group[OR=3.10,95%CI:1.52–6.32,P=0.002].Conclusion EP may adversely affect pregnancy outcomes in patients with infertility and EMs.Even after surgical treatment,EP can still reduce natural pregnancy, clinical pregnancy, and live birth rates in infertile women with EMs and increase the risk of embryo arrest in these women.
文摘BACKGROUND The theory of planned behavior(TPB)and whole-course nursing are mainly used for patients with cancer, chronic diseases, and other conditions that require longterm rehabilitation. There are few studies on diseases, such as acute abdomen, for which patients urgently need surgery.Owing to the particularity of acute abdomen and limited preoperative preparation, patients and their families may not fully realize the significance of postoperative rehabilitation and the development of good treatment behavior. Therefore, this study used acute appendicitis as an entry point to explore the influence of TPB and the whole-process management of acute abdominal disease.AIM To examine the impact of TPB-based whole-process management on postoperative rehabilitation and complications in patients with acute appendicitis.METHODS A total of 180 patients enrolled between July 2023 and June 2024 were randomly assigned via computer-generated sequence into two groups in a 1:1 ratio, with 90 cases each.In the control group,17 cases withdrew, leaving 73 cases that ultimately received routine care.In the experimental group,6 cases withdrew, leaving 84 cases that ultimately received full-process TPB management. The postoperative rehabilitation and complications were compared between the two groups.RESULTS The first exhaust time, bowel sound recovery time, first defecation time, first postoperative ground movement time, and postoperative hospital stay were shorter in the experimental group than in the control group(P<0.05).The Visual Analog Scale scores of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group at 6 hours,12 hours,24 hours, and 48 hours postoperatively(P<0.05).The total incidence of complications was lower in the experimental group than in the control group(P<0.05).The total satisfaction rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).In both groups, patients 48 hours postoperatively had lower Self-Rating Anxiety Scale scores than those preoperatively. The Self-Rating Anxiety Scale score of the experimental group at 48 hours was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Whole-process management based on the TPB can shorten the postoperative recovery time in patients with acute appendicitis and reduce the incidence of pain and complications.
