Histone methylation is involved in a wide range of biological regulation in plants,and is conducted by three major components,including methyltransferases,demethylases,and histone readers.Compared with the other two c...Histone methylation is involved in a wide range of biological regulation in plants,and is conducted by three major components,including methyltransferases,demethylases,and histone readers.Compared with the other two components,research on histone readers is relatively limited.In this study,we demonstrate that OsSHH5 functions as an H3K9me1 reader to regulate rice disease resistance,tillering,and grain yield.Loss of OsSHH5 function significantly enhances both grain yield and disease resistance.Mechanistically,OsSHH5 recruits the H3K9 methyltransferase SGD733 and binds to H3K9me1,thereby maintaining H3K9me1 enrichment and facilitating gene silencing.In leaves,OsSHH5 interacts with the transcriptional factor HPY1 to target the resistance-related genes OsWAKg52 and OsWRKY81,maintaining their H3K9me1 levels and suppressing multiple PAMP-triggered immune responses,which ultimately reduces rice disease resistance.In tiller buds,OsSHH5 interacts with the transcriptional factor TCP19 to target the tillering-related gene OsNGR5,maintaining its H3K9me1 enrichment and inhibition of tillering,leading to reduced yield.Collectively,these findings reveal that OsSHH5 plays a vital role in integrating immune response,tillering,and grain yield in rice,providing new insights into the function of histone readers and offering a new strategy to improve rice yield and disease resistance.展开更多
Two-dimensional Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) flakes have great application potential in various areas due to their optical,electronic,electrochemical and mechanical properties,but their anti-corrosion and wear-resistance performa...Two-dimensional Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) flakes have great application potential in various areas due to their optical,electronic,electrochemical and mechanical properties,but their anti-corrosion and wear-resistance performance were not well understood.The difficulties in achieving good dispersity and interface interaction of inorganic additives in organic coatings hinder the incorporation of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) into the epoxy coating.Here,few-layered Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) sheets with amino-functionalization were prepared,and as reinforced-additives were added into the waterborne epoxy coating.Anti-corrosion and tribological properties of as-prepared composite coatings were investigated in detail.The results reveal that the composite coating with 0.5 wt.%amino-functionalized Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) sheets shows excellent corrosion protection(the lowest frequency impedance was 3.12×10^(9) cm^(2))and wear resistance(wear rate was reduced by 72.74%).The greatly improving performance of composite coatings mainly depends on:(a)good dispersity and compatibility of amino-functionalized Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) in organic matrix,(b)high adhesion strength between coating and metal substrate and(c)the intrinsic properties of Ti3C2Tx sheets.The work provides a good path for applications of MXene as multifunctional additives.展开更多

There are two recognized type of CAC--intimal and m...Coronary artery calcification (CAC) is highly prevalent in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) and is associated with major adverse cardiovascular events. There are two recognized type of CAC--intimal and medial calcification, and each of them have specific risk factors. Several theories about the mechanism of vascular calcification have been put forward, and we currently believe that vascular calcification is an active, regulated process. CAC can usually be found in patients with severe CHD, and this asymptomatic phenomenon make early diagnosis of CAC important. Coronary computed tomographic angiography is the main noninvasive tool to detect calcified lesions. Measurement of coronary artery calcification by scoring is a reasonable metric for cardiovascular risk assessment in asymptomatic adults at intermediate risk. To date, effective medical treatment of CAC has not been identified. Several strategies of percutaneous coronary interven- tion have been applied to CHD patients with CAC, but with unsatisfactory results. Prognosis of CAC is still a major problem of CHD pa- tients. Surface and interface engineering plays a crucial role in modulating the properties of materials,especially two-dimensional(2D)materials.Hence,a strategy,forming heterostructures with MoS_(2),is proposed to overcome t...Surface and interface engineering plays a crucial role in modulating the properties of materials,especially two-dimensional(2D)materials.Hence,a strategy,forming heterostructures with MoS_(2),is proposed to overcome the natural agglomeration of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) MXene nanosheets.Most importantly,the interactions between Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx and MoS_(2) were elaborately investigated by first-principles calculations based on density functional theory(DFT)for the first time.The calculations demonstrate that van der Waals forces dominate the interface interactions of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) and MoS_(2),rendering Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)@MoS_(2) heterostructures favorable stability.The Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)@MoS_(2) heterostructure composites were synthesized through a facile one-step hydrothermal method and exhibit a 2D hierarchical structure.Furthermore,the corrosion and tribological properties of epoxy composite coatings with varying proportions of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)@MoS_(2) composites were studied in detail.As a result,the epoxy composite coating with 0.1 wt.%Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)@MoS_(2) composites(Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)@MoS_(2)-0.1)exhibits excellent corrosion protection and antiwear performances.The Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)@MoS_(2)-0.1 keeps the largest low-frequency impedance modulus(|Z|_(0.)01 Hz)and coating resistance(R_(c))during the whole immersion period.Its wear rate is 0.09μm^(3)/(Nμm)under the load of 10 N,one half of that of pure epoxy coating(EP).This work further broadens the application of MXene-based heterostructure composites.展开更多
Gecko-like robot(Geckobot),an important branch of bionic robotics,is a robot that simulates gecko's capacity to climb walls and ceilings.The work environment of the traditional wall-climbing robot is greatly limite...Gecko-like robot(Geckobot),an important branch of bionic robotics,is a robot that simulates gecko's capacity to climb walls and ceilings.The work environment of the traditional wall-climbing robot is greatly limited as the moving structure and adsorption principle of the robot have nothing to do with the real gecko.However,the adsorption principle and moving mode of the real gecko can provide a new way to break through the restrictions of the traditional wall-climbing robot.Inspired by the moving mechanism of geckos, this paper develops the Geckobot with motile body.Two types of Geckobots are addressed:one with compliant flat bar as the body,and the other with prismatic joint as the body.The compliant body not only resembles the moving mode of the real gecko body,but also simplifies the Geckobot's structure.The prismatic joint body is used to adapt the change of body length in ground-to-wall transition. The gait planning on the plane and the transition between perpendicular intersectional planes is discussed,with an emphasis on the analysis of the kinematics degree of freedom(DOF) and body posture.Central pattern generator(CPG) neural network is realized in LabVIEW and utilized to control Geckobot's movement.The CPG scheme in Lab VIEW is given,and how CPG is used to control Geckobot to turn or move forward is explored.Simulations are conducted in ADAMS to verify the feasibility of the structure design and gait planning and to acquire some parameters for practical Geckobot development.The experiment with Geckobot-Ⅰand Geckobot-Ⅱon their crawling capacity on the plane and the ground-to-wall transition finds that the robot can complete the crawling movement and ground-to-wall transition,verifying the feasibility of the structure design,gait planning and the CPG motion control.The Geckobot structure design approach,gait planning and the CPG motion control presented would be useful for the research on wall-climbing robots.展开更多
