BACKGROUND Gastric cancer(GC)is one of the most common malignant tumors of the digestive system worldwide,the prognosis of patients with advanced GC remains poor.AIM To evaluate the combined expression characteristics...BACKGROUND Gastric cancer(GC)is one of the most common malignant tumors of the digestive system worldwide,the prognosis of patients with advanced GC remains poor.AIM To evaluate the combined expression characteristics of cancer stem cell markers CD24 and CD133 in GC pathological tissues,and to explore their association with patients’clinicopathological parameters and postoperative survival outcomes.METHODS A total of 304 GC patients who underwent surgical treatment in our hospital from January 2018 to January 2020 were retrospectively included.Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the protein expression of CD24 and CD133 in tumor tissues,adjacent tissues,and normal gastric mucosa tissues.Based on staining intensity and the proportion of positive cells,expression levels were classified into low and high expression,while clinicopathological parameters were recorded.χ2 test was used to evaluate the correlation between expression and categorical variables,Spearman rank correlation analysis was performed to assess the correlation between the expression intensities of the two markers,and multivariate regression models were applied to identify independent risk factors influencing co-expression.Kaplan-Meier survival curves and Log-rank test were used to compare survival differences among groups with different expression patterns.RESULTS Among the 304 patients,155 cases(50.99%)were CD24 positive,including 91 low-expression and 64 highexpression;133 cases(43.75%)were CD133 positive,including 81 low-expression and 52 high-expression.There were 74 cases(24.34%)with double positivity and 81 cases(26.64%)with double negativity.Compared with tumor tissues,the positive rates of CD24 and CD133 in normal gastric tissues and adjacent tissues were significantly lower(P<0.05).Univariate analysis showed that co-expression of CD24 and CD133 in GC tissues was significantly correlated with tumor size,Lauren classification,T stage,N stage,and vascular invasion(P<0.05),but not with patient age,gender,tumor site,World Health Organization histological classification,or M stage(P>0.05).Further multivariate regression analysis suggested that tumor size,T stage,N stage,and vascular invasion were independent risk factors promoting CD24 and CD133 double positivity.Spearman rank correlation analysis indicated a moderate positive correlation between their expression intensities(r=0.420,P<0.001).During follow-up,29 of 304 patients were lost(loss rate 9.54%);146 deaths occurred.According to expression combination,there were 89 cases of CD24 single positivity(39 deaths),68 cases of CD133 single positivity(31 deaths),81 cases of double negativity(25 deaths),and 66 cases of double positivity(51 deaths).Log-rank test showed significant differences in overall survival among the four groups(χ2=20.89,P<0.001),with CD24+/CD133+group showing the worst prognosis.CONCLUSION CD24 and CD133 exhibit high positive detection rates in GC tissues,and their co-positivity is closely associated with tumor stage progression and significantly indicates unfavorable survival outcomes.The co-expression of CD24/CD133 may reflect higher aggressiveness and metastatic potential of GC,serving as a potential prognostic marker and a direction for targeted therapeutic strategies.However,as this is a single-center retrospective study with limitations such as patient loss to follow-up and sample size,further prospective,multicenter,and mechanistic studies are required to validate its clinical applicability and biological role.展开更多
Objective This study aimed to determine the temporal trends in sleep duration among Chinese adults.Methods In this series of repeated nationally representative cross-sectional surveys(China Chronic Disease and Risk Fa...Objective This study aimed to determine the temporal trends in sleep duration among Chinese adults.Methods In this series of repeated nationally representative cross-sectional surveys(China Chronic Disease and Risk Factors Surveillance)conducted between 2010 and 2018,a total of 645,420 adult participants(97,741 in 2010;175,749 in 2013;187,777 in 2015;and 184,153 in 2018)were included in the trend analysis.Linear and logistic regression models were utilized to assess trends in sleep duration.Results In 2018,the estimated overall mean sleep duration among the Chinese adult population was7.58(SD,1.45)hours per day,with no significant trend from 2010.A significant increase in short sleep duration(≤6 hours)was observed in the total population,from 15.3%(95%CI:14.1%–16.5%)in 2010 to18.5%(95%CI:17.7%–19.3%)in 2018(P<0.001).Similarly,the trend in long sleep duration(>9 hours)was also significant,increasing in weighted prevalence from 7.2%(95%CI:6.3%–8.1%)in 2010 to 9.0%(95%CI:8.2%–9.9%)in 2018(P<0.001).Conclusion The prevalence of both short and long sleep durations significantly increased among Chinese adults from 2010 to 2018,highlighting the urgency of health initiatives to promote optimal sleep duration in China.展开更多
This study investigates the impact of vegetation-climate feedback on the global land monsoon system during the Last Interglacial(LIG,127000 years BP)and the mid-Holocene(MH,6000 years BP)using the earth system model E...This study investigates the impact of vegetation-climate feedback on the global land monsoon system during the Last Interglacial(LIG,127000 years BP)and the mid-Holocene(MH,6000 years BP)using the earth system model EC-Earth3.Our findings indicate that vegetation changes significantly influence the global monsoon area and precipitation patterns,especially in the North African and Indian monsoon regions.The North African monsoon region experienced the most substantial increase in vegetation during both the LIG and MH,resulting in significant increases in monsoonal precipitation by 9.8%and 6.0%,respectively.The vegetation feedback also intensified the Saharan Heat Low,strengthened monsoonal flows,and enhanced precipitation over the North African monsoon region.In contrast,the Indian monsoon region exhibited divergent responses to vegetation changes.During the LIG,precipitation in the Indian monsoon region decreased by 2.2%,while it increased by 1.6%during the MH.These differences highlight the complex and region-specific impacts of vegetation feedback on monsoon systems.Overall,this study demonstrates that vegetation feedback exerts distinct influences on the global monsoon during the MH and LIG.These findings highlight the importance of considering vegetation-climate feedback in understanding past monsoon variability and in predicting future climate change impacts on monsoon systems.展开更多
The integration of wind power and natural gas for hydrogen production forms a Green and Blue Hydrogen Integrated Energy System(GBH-IES),which is a promising cogeneration approach characterized by multienergy complemen...The integration of wind power and natural gas for hydrogen production forms a Green and Blue Hydrogen Integrated Energy System(GBH-IES),which is a promising cogeneration approach characterized by multienergy complementarity,flexible dispatch,and efficient utilization.This system can meet the demands for electricity,heat,and hydrogen while demonstrating significant performance in energy supply,energy conversion,economy,and environment(4E).To evaluate the GBH-IES system effectively,a comprehensive performance evaluation index system was constructed from the 4E dimensions.The fuzzy DEMATEL method was used to quantify the causal relationships between indicators,establishing a scientific input-output assessment system.The DEA model was then employed for preliminary performance evaluation of the hydrogen storage system,followed by the entropy weight TOPSIS method to enhance the accuracy and reliability of the assessment results.The study also conducted a comprehensive benefit evaluation and sensitivity analysis for different cases involving blue hydrogen,green hydrogen,and their synergistic effects under varying carbon emission factors(CEFs)and hydrogen blending ratios(HBRs).The results indicate that combining green and blue hydrogen can achieve higher comprehensive benefits for the hydrogen storage system,providing valuable insights for hydrogen storage development and demonstrating the effectiveness of themulti-criteria decision-making methods used.展开更多

BACKGROUND Rebleeding after recovery from esophagogastric variceal bleeding(EGVB)is a severe complication that is associated with high rates of both incidence and mortality.Despite its clinical importance,recognized p...BACKGROUND Rebleeding after recovery from esophagogastric variceal bleeding(EGVB)is a severe complication that is associated with high rates of both incidence and mortality.Despite its clinical importance,recognized prognostic models that can effectively predict esophagogastric variceal rebleeding in patients with liver cirrhosis are lacking.AIM To construct and externally validate a reliable prognostic model for predicting the occurrence of esophagogastric variceal rebleeding.METHODS This study included 477 EGVB patients across 2 cohorts:The derivation cohort(n=322)and the validation cohort(n=155).The primary outcome was rebleeding events within 1 year.The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator was applied for predictor selection,and multivariate Cox regression analysis was used to construct the prognostic model.Internal validation was performed with bootstrap resampling.We assessed the discrimination,calibration and accuracy of the model,and performed patient risk stratification.RESULTS Six predictors,including albumin and aspartate aminotransferase concentrations,white blood cell count,and the presence of ascites,portal vein thrombosis,and bleeding signs,were selected for the rebleeding event prediction following endoscopic treatment(REPET)model.In predicting rebleeding within 1 year,the REPET model ex-hibited a concordance index of 0.775 and a Brier score of 0.143 in the derivation cohort,alongside 0.862 and 0.127 in the validation cohort.Furthermore,the REPET model revealed a significant difference in rebleeding rates(P<0.01)between low-risk patients and intermediate-to high-risk patients in both cohorts.CONCLUSION We constructed and validated a new prognostic model for variceal rebleeding with excellent predictive per-formance,which will improve the clinical management of rebleeding in EGVB patients.展开更多
BACKGROUND Esophageal stricture ranks among the most significant complications following endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD).Excessive fibrotic repair is a typical pathological feature leading to stenosis after ESD....BACKGROUND Esophageal stricture ranks among the most significant complications following endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD).Excessive fibrotic repair is a typical pathological feature leading to stenosis after ESD.AIM To examine the effectiveness and underlying mechanism of Kangfuxin solution(KFX)in mitigating excessive fibrotic repair of the esophagus post-ESD.METHODS Pigs received KFX at 0.74 mL/kg/d for 21 days after esophageal full circumferential ESD.Endoscopic examinations occurred on days 7 and 21 post-ESD.In vitro,recombinant transforming growth factor(TGF)-β1(5 ng/mL)induced a fibrotic microenvironment in primary esophageal fibroblasts(pEsF).After 24 hours of KFX treatment(at 1.5%,1%,and 0.5%),expression ofα-smooth muscle actin-2(ACTA2),fibronectin(FN),and type collagen I was assessed.Profibrotic signaling was analyzed,including TGF-β1,Smad2/3,and phosphor-smad2/3(p-Smad2/3).RESULTS Compared to the Control group,the groups treated with KFX and prednisolone exhibited reduced esophageal stenosis,lower weight loss rates,and improved food tolerance 21 d after ESD.After treatment,Masson staining revealed thinner and less dense collagen fibers in the submucosal layer.Additionally,the expression of fibrotic effector molecules was notably inhibited.Mechanistically,KFX downregulated the transduction levels of fibrotic functional molecules such as TGF-β1,Smad2/3,and p-Smad2/3.In vitro,pEsF exposed to TGF-β1-induced fibrotic microenvironment displayed increased fibrotic activity,which was reversed by KFX treatment,leading to reduced activation of ACTA2,FN,and collagen I.The 1.5%KFX treatment group showed decreased expression of p-Smad 2/3 in TGF-β1-activated pEsF.CONCLUSION KFX showed promise as a therapeutic option for post-full circumferential esophageal ESD strictures,potentially by suppressing fibroblast fibrotic activity through modulation of the TGF-β1/Smads signaling pathway.展开更多
Objectives:To explore the efficacy and safety of virtual reality(VR)in relieving negative emotions in patients with breast cancer with different personalities.Methods:A randomized controlled trial was conducted.Betwee...Objectives:To explore the efficacy and safety of virtual reality(VR)in relieving negative emotions in patients with breast cancer with different personalities.Methods:A randomized controlled trial was conducted.Between April 2023 and October 2023,we enrolled patients with breast cancer treated in the Department of Breast Cancer and Oncology at Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hospital,Sun Yat-Sen University,Guangdong Province.The patients were randomly divided into an intervention group(n=118)and a control group(n=119)using block randomization.The intervention group received the VR intervention 3-5 times over 5±2 weeks using natural landscapes with music or relaxation guidance,and the duration of each VR intervention was 15±3 min.The control group received routine nursing care,including disease education and psychological counseling.Patients were assessed using the Type D Scale,Positive and Negative Affect Scale,and Distress Thermometer,and adverse events during the intervention were recorded.Results:Overall,85 patients completed the study(44 in the intervention group and 41 in the control group).Patients with Type D personalities showed more negative emotions[25.0(21.5,27.5)vs.19.0(16.0,24.0),P=0.001]and distressed attitudes[4.0(2.0,5.0)vs.3.0(1.0,4.0),P=0.020]with fewer positive emotions(27.2±5.6 vs.31.0±5.9,P=0.014)than those with non-Type D personalities.Total population analysis revealed no significant differences between the groups.However,in the subgroup analysis,patients with Type D personalities in the intervention group showed greater relief from negative emotions than those in the control group[median difference,-5.0(-9.0,-2.5)vs.-2.0(-4.0,2.0),P=0.046].No significant differences were found between groups of patients with non-Type D personality traits.The proportion of adverse events was not significantly different between groups(P=0.110).Conclusions:Breast cancer patients with Type D personalities suffer more severe negative emotions and distress,and more attention should be paid to them.VR intervention significantly and safely reduced negative emotions in patients with Type D personalities.展开更多
It has been shown clinically that continuous removal of ischemia/reperfusion-induced reactive oxygen species is not conducive to the recovery of late stroke.Indeed,previous studies have shown that excessive increases ...It has been shown clinically that continuous removal of ischemia/reperfusion-induced reactive oxygen species is not conducive to the recovery of late stroke.Indeed,previous studies have shown that excessive increases in hypochlorous acid after stroke can cause severe damage to brain tissue.Our previous studies have found that a small amount of hypochlorous acid still exists in the later stage of stroke,but its specific role and mechanism are currently unclear.To simulate stroke in vivo,a middle cerebral artery occlusion rat model was established,with an oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation model established in vitro to mimic stroke.We found that in the early stage(within 24 hours)of ischemic stroke,neutrophils produced a large amount of hypochlorous acid,while in the recovery phase(10 days after stroke),microglia were activated and produced a small amount of hypochlorous acid.Further,in acute stroke in rats,hypochlorous acid production was prevented using a hypochlorous acid scavenger,taurine,or myeloperoxidase inhibitor,4-aminobenzoic acid hydrazide.Our results showed that high levels of hypochlorous acid(200μM)induced neuronal apoptosis after oxygen/glucose deprivation/reoxygenation.However,in the recovery phase of the middle cerebral artery occlusion model,a moderate level of hypochlorous acid promoted the proliferation and differentiation of neural stem cells into neurons and astrocytes.This suggests that hypochlorous acid plays different roles at different phases of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury.Lower levels of hypochlorous acid(5 and 100μM)promoted nuclear translocation ofβ-catenin.By transfection of single-site mutation plasmids,we found that hypochlorous acid induced chlorination of theβ-catenin tyrosine 30 residue,which promoted nuclear translocation.Altogether,our study indicates that maintaining low levels of hypochlorous acid plays a key role in the recovery of neurological function.展开更多

Cadmium(Cd)contamination of soil is a global environmental issue.Traditional remediation techniques such as immobilization,leaching,and phytoextraction have numerous shortcomings,which has led to growing interest in t...Cadmium(Cd)contamination of soil is a global environmental issue.Traditional remediation techniques such as immobilization,leaching,and phytoextraction have numerous shortcomings,which has led to growing interest in the development of low-cost,high-efficiency,and environmentally friendly agents for removing Cd from soil.In this study,four magnetite(Fe_(3)O_(4))/polyaniline(PANI)nanocomposites,Fe_(3)O_(4)(1.0)/PANI,Fe_(3)O_(4)(1.5)/PANI,Fe_(3)O_(4)(2.0)/PANI,and Fe_(3)O_(4)(2.5)/PANI,were developed using 4 mL aniline monomer and 1.0,1.5,2.0,and 2.5 g Fe_(3)O_(4),respectively,and used as remediation agents with magnetic separation and regeneration capabilities.The Cd adsorption isotherms showed a better fit to the Langmuir model,with Fe_(3)O_(4)(1.5)/PANI exhibiting the highest Cd adsorption capacity of 47.62 mg g^(-1) at 25℃.Then,Fe_(3)O_(4)(1.5)/PANI was used to remediate four Cd-contaminated soils typical in China(black,brown,cinnamon,and red),all with a Cd content of 180 mg kg^(-1) after spiking.The results showed that the total Cd removal efficiency was satisfactory at 25.25%–38.91%and the exchangeable Cd removal efficiency was 36.03%on average.In addition,soil basic properties did not show significant changes after remediation.Regarding the regeneration performance,a higher total Cd removal efficiency(27.89%–44.96%)was achieved after the first regeneration cycle of Fe_(3)O_(4)(1.5)/PANI.After two regeneration cycles,Fe_(3)O_(4)(1.5)/PANI exhibited decreased total Cd removal efficiency compared to after the first regeneration,but its efficiency remained above 95%of or higher than those of virgin Fe_(3)O_(4)(1.5)/PANI.The synthetic process of Fe_(3)O_(4)/PANI was simple and cost-effective,and Fe_(3)O_(4)/PANI exhibited a high Cd removal efficiency with easy recovery and recyclability.Therefore,Fe_(3)O_(4)/PANI is a promising solution for the sustainable and efficient remediation of Cd-contaminated soils,especially for the reclamation of highly contaminated development land.展开更多

文摘This study investigates the impact of vegetation-climate feedback on the global land monsoon system during the Last Interglacial(LIG,127000 years BP)and the mid-Holocene(MH,6000 years BP)using the earth system model EC-Earth3.Our findings indicate that vegetation changes significantly influence the global monsoon area and precipitation patterns,especially in the North African and Indian monsoon regions.The North African monsoon region experienced the most substantial increase in vegetation during both the LIG and MH,resulting in significant increases in monsoonal precipitation by 9.8%and 6.0%,respectively.The vegetation feedback also intensified the Saharan Heat Low,strengthened monsoonal flows,and enhanced precipitation over the North African monsoon region.In contrast,the Indian monsoon region exhibited divergent responses to vegetation changes.During the LIG,precipitation in the Indian monsoon region decreased by 2.2%,while it increased by 1.6%during the MH.These differences highlight the complex and region-specific impacts of vegetation feedback on monsoon systems.Overall,this study demonstrates that vegetation feedback exerts distinct influences on the global monsoon during the MH and LIG.These findings highlight the importance of considering vegetation-climate feedback in understanding past monsoon variability and in predicting future climate change impacts on monsoon systems.

文摘The integration of wind power and natural gas for hydrogen production forms a Green and Blue Hydrogen Integrated Energy System(GBH-IES),which is a promising cogeneration approach characterized by multienergy complementarity,flexible dispatch,and efficient utilization.This system can meet the demands for electricity,heat,and hydrogen while demonstrating significant performance in energy supply,energy conversion,economy,and environment(4E).To evaluate the GBH-IES system effectively,a comprehensive performance evaluation index system was constructed from the 4E dimensions.The fuzzy DEMATEL method was used to quantify the causal relationships between indicators,establishing a scientific input-output assessment system.The DEA model was then employed for preliminary performance evaluation of the hydrogen storage system,followed by the entropy weight TOPSIS method to enhance the accuracy and reliability of the assessment results.The study also conducted a comprehensive benefit evaluation and sensitivity analysis for different cases involving blue hydrogen,green hydrogen,and their synergistic effects under varying carbon emission factors(CEFs)and hydrogen blending ratios(HBRs).The results indicate that combining green and blue hydrogen can achieve higher comprehensive benefits for the hydrogen storage system,providing valuable insights for hydrogen storage development and demonstrating the effectiveness of themulti-criteria decision-making methods used.

文摘BACKGROUND Rebleeding after recovery from esophagogastric variceal bleeding(EGVB)is a severe complication that is associated with high rates of both incidence and mortality.Despite its clinical importance,recognized prognostic models that can effectively predict esophagogastric variceal rebleeding in patients with liver cirrhosis are lacking.AIM To construct and externally validate a reliable prognostic model for predicting the occurrence of esophagogastric variceal rebleeding.METHODS This study included 477 EGVB patients across 2 cohorts:The derivation cohort(n=322)and the validation cohort(n=155).The primary outcome was rebleeding events within 1 year.The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator was applied for predictor selection,and multivariate Cox regression analysis was used to construct the prognostic model.Internal validation was performed with bootstrap resampling.We assessed the discrimination,calibration and accuracy of the model,and performed patient risk stratification.RESULTS Six predictors,including albumin and aspartate aminotransferase concentrations,white blood cell count,and the presence of ascites,portal vein thrombosis,and bleeding signs,were selected for the rebleeding event prediction following endoscopic treatment(REPET)model.In predicting rebleeding within 1 year,the REPET model ex-hibited a concordance index of 0.775 and a Brier score of 0.143 in the derivation cohort,alongside 0.862 and 0.127 in the validation cohort.Furthermore,the REPET model revealed a significant difference in rebleeding rates(P<0.01)between low-risk patients and intermediate-to high-risk patients in both cohorts.CONCLUSION We constructed and validated a new prognostic model for variceal rebleeding with excellent predictive per-formance,which will improve the clinical management of rebleeding in EGVB patients.

文摘BACKGROUND Esophageal stricture ranks among the most significant complications following endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD).Excessive fibrotic repair is a typical pathological feature leading to stenosis after ESD.AIM To examine the effectiveness and underlying mechanism of Kangfuxin solution(KFX)in mitigating excessive fibrotic repair of the esophagus post-ESD.METHODS Pigs received KFX at 0.74 mL/kg/d for 21 days after esophageal full circumferential ESD.Endoscopic examinations occurred on days 7 and 21 post-ESD.In vitro,recombinant transforming growth factor(TGF)-β1(5 ng/mL)induced a fibrotic microenvironment in primary esophageal fibroblasts(pEsF).After 24 hours of KFX treatment(at 1.5%,1%,and 0.5%),expression ofα-smooth muscle actin-2(ACTA2),fibronectin(FN),and type collagen I was assessed.Profibrotic signaling was analyzed,including TGF-β1,Smad2/3,and phosphor-smad2/3(p-Smad2/3).RESULTS Compared to the Control group,the groups treated with KFX and prednisolone exhibited reduced esophageal stenosis,lower weight loss rates,and improved food tolerance 21 d after ESD.After treatment,Masson staining revealed thinner and less dense collagen fibers in the submucosal layer.Additionally,the expression of fibrotic effector molecules was notably inhibited.Mechanistically,KFX downregulated the transduction levels of fibrotic functional molecules such as TGF-β1,Smad2/3,and p-Smad2/3.In vitro,pEsF exposed to TGF-β1-induced fibrotic microenvironment displayed increased fibrotic activity,which was reversed by KFX treatment,leading to reduced activation of ACTA2,FN,and collagen I.The 1.5%KFX treatment group showed decreased expression of p-Smad 2/3 in TGF-β1-activated pEsF.CONCLUSION KFX showed promise as a therapeutic option for post-full circumferential esophageal ESD strictures,potentially by suppressing fibroblast fibrotic activity through modulation of the TGF-β1/Smads signaling pathway.

文摘Objectives:To explore the efficacy and safety of virtual reality(VR)in relieving negative emotions in patients with breast cancer with different personalities.Methods:A randomized controlled trial was conducted.Between April 2023 and October 2023,we enrolled patients with breast cancer treated in the Department of Breast Cancer and Oncology at Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hospital,Sun Yat-Sen University,Guangdong Province.The patients were randomly divided into an intervention group(n=118)and a control group(n=119)using block randomization.The intervention group received the VR intervention 3-5 times over 5±2 weeks using natural landscapes with music or relaxation guidance,and the duration of each VR intervention was 15±3 min.The control group received routine nursing care,including disease education and psychological counseling.Patients were assessed using the Type D Scale,Positive and Negative Affect Scale,and Distress Thermometer,and adverse events during the intervention were recorded.Results:Overall,85 patients completed the study(44 in the intervention group and 41 in the control group).Patients with Type D personalities showed more negative emotions[25.0(21.5,27.5)vs.19.0(16.0,24.0),P=0.001]and distressed attitudes[4.0(2.0,5.0)vs.3.0(1.0,4.0),P=0.020]with fewer positive emotions(27.2±5.6 vs.31.0±5.9,P=0.014)than those with non-Type D personalities.Total population analysis revealed no significant differences between the groups.However,in the subgroup analysis,patients with Type D personalities in the intervention group showed greater relief from negative emotions than those in the control group[median difference,-5.0(-9.0,-2.5)vs.-2.0(-4.0,2.0),P=0.046].No significant differences were found between groups of patients with non-Type D personality traits.The proportion of adverse events was not significantly different between groups(P=0.110).Conclusions:Breast cancer patients with Type D personalities suffer more severe negative emotions and distress,and more attention should be paid to them.VR intervention significantly and safely reduced negative emotions in patients with Type D personalities.

文摘It has been shown clinically that continuous removal of ischemia/reperfusion-induced reactive oxygen species is not conducive to the recovery of late stroke.Indeed,previous studies have shown that excessive increases in hypochlorous acid after stroke can cause severe damage to brain tissue.Our previous studies have found that a small amount of hypochlorous acid still exists in the later stage of stroke,but its specific role and mechanism are currently unclear.To simulate stroke in vivo,a middle cerebral artery occlusion rat model was established,with an oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation model established in vitro to mimic stroke.We found that in the early stage(within 24 hours)of ischemic stroke,neutrophils produced a large amount of hypochlorous acid,while in the recovery phase(10 days after stroke),microglia were activated and produced a small amount of hypochlorous acid.Further,in acute stroke in rats,hypochlorous acid production was prevented using a hypochlorous acid scavenger,taurine,or myeloperoxidase inhibitor,4-aminobenzoic acid hydrazide.Our results showed that high levels of hypochlorous acid(200μM)induced neuronal apoptosis after oxygen/glucose deprivation/reoxygenation.However,in the recovery phase of the middle cerebral artery occlusion model,a moderate level of hypochlorous acid promoted the proliferation and differentiation of neural stem cells into neurons and astrocytes.This suggests that hypochlorous acid plays different roles at different phases of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury.Lower levels of hypochlorous acid(5 and 100μM)promoted nuclear translocation ofβ-catenin.By transfection of single-site mutation plasmids,we found that hypochlorous acid induced chlorination of theβ-catenin tyrosine 30 residue,which promoted nuclear translocation.Altogether,our study indicates that maintaining low levels of hypochlorous acid plays a key role in the recovery of neurological function.

文摘The mixing process plays a pivotal role in the design,optimization,and scale-up of chemical reactors.For most chemical reactions,achieving uniform and rapid contact between reactants at the molecular level is crucial.Mixing intensification encompasses innovative methods and tools that address the limitations of inadequate mixing within reactors,enabling efficient reaction scaling and boosting the productivity of industrial processes.This review provides a concise introduction to the fundamentals of multiphase mixing,followed by case studies highlighting the application of mixing intensification in the production of energy-storage materials,advanced optical materials,and nanopesticides.These examples illustrate the significance of theoretical analysis in informing and advancing engineering practices within the chemical industry.We also explore the challenges and opportunities in this field,offering insights based on our current understanding.

文摘Quasi-zero-stiffness(QZS)metamaterials have attracted significant interest for application in low-frequency vibration isolation.However,previous work has been limited by the design mechanism of QZS metamaterials,as it is still difficult to achieve a simplified structure suitable for practical engineering applications.Here,we introduce a class of programmable QZS metamaterials and a novel design mechanism that address this long-standing difficulty.The proposed QZS metamaterials are formed by an array of representative unit cells(RUCs)with the expected QZS features,where the QZS features of the RUC are tailored by means of a structural bionic mechanism.In our experiments,we validate the QZS features exhibited by the RUCs,the programmable QZS behavior,and the potential promising applications of these programmable QZS metamaterials in low-frequency vibration isolation.The obtained results could inspire a new class of programmable QZS metamaterials for low-frequency vibration isolation in current and future mechanical and other engineering applications.

文摘The angular dependence of magnetoresistance(MR)in antiferromagnetic half-Heusler HoAuSn single crystals has been systematically studied.Negative MR,as large as~99%,is observed at 9 T,is not restricted to the specific configuration of applied magnetics fields and current and can persist up to 20 K,much higher than the Ne'el temperature(T_(N)≈1.9 K).Experiments and first-principles calculations suggest that the observed large negative MR is derived from a magnetic field that reconstructs the band structure and induces a Weyl point,which changes the carrier concentration.

文摘Cadmium(Cd)contamination of soil is a global environmental issue.Traditional remediation techniques such as immobilization,leaching,and phytoextraction have numerous shortcomings,which has led to growing interest in the development of low-cost,high-efficiency,and environmentally friendly agents for removing Cd from soil.In this study,four magnetite(Fe_(3)O_(4))/polyaniline(PANI)nanocomposites,Fe_(3)O_(4)(1.0)/PANI,Fe_(3)O_(4)(1.5)/PANI,Fe_(3)O_(4)(2.0)/PANI,and Fe_(3)O_(4)(2.5)/PANI,were developed using 4 mL aniline monomer and 1.0,1.5,2.0,and 2.5 g Fe_(3)O_(4),respectively,and used as remediation agents with magnetic separation and regeneration capabilities.The Cd adsorption isotherms showed a better fit to the Langmuir model,with Fe_(3)O_(4)(1.5)/PANI exhibiting the highest Cd adsorption capacity of 47.62 mg g^(-1) at 25℃.Then,Fe_(3)O_(4)(1.5)/PANI was used to remediate four Cd-contaminated soils typical in China(black,brown,cinnamon,and red),all with a Cd content of 180 mg kg^(-1) after spiking.The results showed that the total Cd removal efficiency was satisfactory at 25.25%–38.91%and the exchangeable Cd removal efficiency was 36.03%on average.In addition,soil basic properties did not show significant changes after remediation.Regarding the regeneration performance,a higher total Cd removal efficiency(27.89%–44.96%)was achieved after the first regeneration cycle of Fe_(3)O_(4)(1.5)/PANI.After two regeneration cycles,Fe_(3)O_(4)(1.5)/PANI exhibited decreased total Cd removal efficiency compared to after the first regeneration,but its efficiency remained above 95%of or higher than those of virgin Fe_(3)O_(4)(1.5)/PANI.The synthetic process of Fe_(3)O_(4)/PANI was simple and cost-effective,and Fe_(3)O_(4)/PANI exhibited a high Cd removal efficiency with easy recovery and recyclability.Therefore,Fe_(3)O_(4)/PANI is a promising solution for the sustainable and efficient remediation of Cd-contaminated soils,especially for the reclamation of highly contaminated development land.
