In order to explore the reduction pathways of zinc oxide in LiCl molten salt and the optimal process,experiments were conducted in an alumina crucible using metallic lithium as the reducing agent and lithium chloride ...In order to explore the reduction pathways of zinc oxide in LiCl molten salt and the optimal process,experiments were conducted in an alumina crucible using metallic lithium as the reducing agent and lithium chloride molten salt as the reaction medium at 923 K.The study assessed the effects of lithium thermochemical reduction and electrolytic reduction of ZnO.The volatilization behavior of metal oxides in molten salts,the equivalent of a reducing agent,reduction time,amount of molten salt,stirring time,and the method of reduction feed were investigated for their impacts on the reduction yield and product composition.X-ray powder diffraction(XRD)analysis of the products showed that lithium reduction of ZnO not only produced metallic Zn but also formed a LiZn alloy.Electrolytic reduction can be used to obtain the metallic Zn product by controlling the potential below-2.2 V(vs Ag/Ag^(+)).Moreover,sintered oxides and higher electrode potentials could enhance the efficiency of electrolysis.Under the optimal reaction conditions determined experimentally,the lithium reduction experiment achieved a yield of 77.2%after a 12-h test,and the electrolytic reduction reached a yield of 85.4%after a 6-h test.展开更多
Although the effectiveness of a tuned viscous mass damper(TVMD)as an inerter-based device for vibration control in civil structures has been thoroughly investigated,there is a lack of systematic research regarding the...Although the effectiveness of a tuned viscous mass damper(TVMD)as an inerter-based device for vibration control in civil structures has been thoroughly investigated,there is a lack of systematic research regarding the application of TVMDs for seismic response control of industrial buildings coupled with mechanical equipment.Therefore,this study proposes ungrounded and grounded TVMDs to effectively utilize the mass of the mechanical equipment and fully exploit the capabilities of the inerter element.An optimal design methodology is developed by pursuing the maximum effective damping ratio and seeking the most rational TVMD control scheme.Validation of TVMD control performance is conducted through time-history analysis based on 20 real seismic ground motions recommended by ATC-40,and by providing a barrel mixer industrial building as a real-life numerical example.The results show that both an ungrounded and grounded TVMD can effectively mitigate the seismic response of the primary structure.Compared to the traditional tuned mass damper(TMD),TVMDs can obtain improved control performance for a given equipment mass ratio.Moreover,an ungrounded TVMD and a TMD show similar working mechanisms that tend to release the displacement of equipment to keep their optimal state,whereas equipment displacement for a grounded TVMD should be strictly limited to provide sufficient anti-force.展开更多

On the basis of the EOF analysis of global geopotential height anomaly(GHA)field at 10 hPa level,the arctic oscillation(AO)and the means antarctic oscillation(AAO)can bedetected more obviously at the upper level of at...On the basis of the EOF analysis of global geopotential height anomaly(GHA)field at 10 hPa level,the arctic oscillation(AO)and the means antarctic oscillation(AAO)can bedetected more obviously at the upper level of atmosphere than the AO or the AAO in surface layer.Unlike the hemisphere pattern of the AO and the AAO in the surface lager given by previous authors,the AO or the AAO in the stratosphere has its global features.The zonal oscillations—the SouthernOscillation(SO)and the north oscillation(NO)in atmospheric surface layer become less clear inthe upper air.The first mode(AO mode,abbreviated to AOM hereafter)and the second mode(AAO mode,abbreviated to AAOM hereafter)respectively have 41.47%and 27.04%of the total variancecontribution.The cumulative variance contribution of the first two modes reaches 68.51%.These twomodes are the main components for the interdecadal or decadal oscillation in the stratosphere.Inaddition,there still exist two kinds of oscillation patterns with less probability,namely,thesymmetric pattern at mid-high latitudes in the Southern Hemisphere and the asymmetric pattern.Spectral analysis shows that the AOM and the AAOM all have a spectral peak for 22 a period,beingconsistent with the periodic variations of the solar magnetic field,and a peak for 11 a period,being consistent with the period of the numbers of sunspots.Step filter analysis shows that theinfluencing factor for the upper atmospheric oscillation is the solar activity.The fluctuation ofthe solar magnetic field is the more influencing factor than the variation of the sunspot number.展开更多
Sulfate-reducing bacteria(SRB),which obtain energy from dissimilatory sulfate reduction,play a vital role in the carbon and sulfur cycles.The dissimilatory sulfite reductase(Dsr),catalyzing the last step in the sulfat...Sulfate-reducing bacteria(SRB),which obtain energy from dissimilatory sulfate reduction,play a vital role in the carbon and sulfur cycles.The dissimilatory sulfite reductase(Dsr),catalyzing the last step in the sulfate reduction pathway,has been found in all known SRB that have been tested so far.In this study,the diversity of SRB was investigated in the surface sediments from the adjacent area of Changjiang Estuary by PCR amplification,cloning and sequencing of the dissimilatory sulfite reductase beta subunit gene(dsr B).Based on dsr B clone libraries constructed in this study,diversified SRB were found,represented by 173 unique OTUs.Certain cloned sequences were associated with Desulfobacteraceae,Desulfobulbaceae,and a large fraction(60%) of novel sequences that have deeply branched groups in the dsr B tree,indicating that novel SRB inhabit the surface sediments.In addition,correlations of the SRB assemblages with environmental factors were analyzed by the linear model-based redundancy analysis(RDA).The result revealed that temperature,salinity and the content of TOC were most closely correlated with the SRB communities.More information on SRB community was obtained by applying the utility of Uni Frac to published dsr B gene sequences from this study and other 9 different kinds of marine environments.The results demonstrated that there were highly similar SRB genotypes in the marine and estuarine sediments,and that geographic positions and environmental factors influenced the SRB community distribution.展开更多

Seasonal and spatial distribution of ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA) and betaproteobacteria (13-AOB) in surface sediments from the East China Sea (ECS) were investigated using ammonia monooxygenase ct subunit (amoA) gene. In order to characterize the community of AOA and 13-AOB, real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) was carried out in this study, along with environmental parameters. The abundance of 13-AOB amoA gene (2.17x 10^6-4.54x10^7 copy numbers per gram wet weight sediment) was always greater than that ofAOA amoA gene (2.18x 105-9.89x 10^6 copy numbers per gram wet weight sediment) in all sampling stations. The qPCR results were correlated with environmental parameters. AOA amoA gene copy numbers in April were positively related to temperature and nitrite concentration (p〈0.05). 13-AOB amoA gene copy numbers in August correlated negatively with salinity (p〈0.01), and correlated positively with ammonium concentration (p〈0.05). With the increase of salinity, the amoA gene copy ratio of AOB to AOA had a tendency to decrease, which suggested 13-AOB dominated in the area of high level ammonium and AOA preferred high salinity area.展开更多

[ Objective] The research aimed to analyze temporal-spatial variation characteristics of the extreme precipitation days over South China from 1961 to 2010. [ Method] Based on the daily precipitation data in meteorolog...[ Objective] The research aimed to analyze temporal-spatial variation characteristics of the extreme precipitation days over South China from 1961 to 2010. [ Method] Based on the daily precipitation data in meteorological stations over South China, extreme precipitation thresholds were determined according to the percentiles distribution for different stations. Temporal-spatial variation characteristics of the extreme precipitation days over South China were studied by the methods of fuzzy clustering, trend coefficient, wavelet analysis and cross spectrum analysis, etc. [ Re- suit] Four sub-regions were identified over South China. They were respectively Nanling area, west Guangxi area, Coast area and Hainan area. Occurrence seasons of the extreme precipitations in each sub-region were significantly different. Extreme precipitation clays in four sub-regions all had increase trends, and those of Nanling area and Coast area were significant. From wavelet analysis and cress spectrum analysis, there were significant periodic variation characteristics. Extreme precipitation days in each sub-region all had significant same-phase evolution trends at the peri- od of 2 -5 years, but backward time length was different. [ Conclusion] The research provided background materials for forecast and influence as- sessment of the extremely heavy precipitation over South China.展开更多
