摘要
本研究依托西南交通大学以学生为主体的教学质量校园网络评价体系,对全校三个年级所有修读大学英语的8701名本科生(取样率为100%)网上评价大学英语课堂教学和教材的数据进行了定量统计分析,对其中某些结果又辅以同行专家评价的定性考察以分析其吻合程度。本调查旨在探讨该评价体系是否能客观地评估和显化大学英语教学质量,探索如何利用评价结果反馈教学研究,从教学主体——学生的角度审视大学英语教学质量和教材,为开展有针对性、有实效的教研活动和师资培训提供参考,同时为高等院校大学英语教学质量评估提供实证性依据。
With the help of the campus-web system for the evaluation of university teaching given by students in SWJTU, the study collected data from all the 8701undergraduates who are taking college English (CE) as their credit course, and investigated quantitatively the students' assessments about CE teaching and the textbooks used. Certain results were further examined in a qualitative way to look at to what extent students' evaluation results agree with those obtained by professionals. From a student-centered perspective, the study probed the objectivity of the evaluation system, looked into how it could clear the quality of CE teaching and how the evaluation feedback could help better CE teaching quality and textbook selection. We hope this study could provide reference to effective and to-the-point teaching research and teacher training and offer empirical evidence to the study of CE teaching quality evaluation in colleges and universities.
