摘要
通过分析比较清代以来人们对《镜花缘》的评价 ,并进行主题学和叙事学方面的研究 ,认为《镜花缘》具有独特的文学史地位 ,不可用今人纯文学的观念来看待。认为《镜花缘》小说中“炫才”内容常被评论者所诟病 ,实际上这是以才学为主干来表达主题需要的叙事策略 ,其主题内容是人生理想境界的金字塔 ,成为沟通古代与近代的“寓言”。
IA comparative study is made on the comments of The Mirror and Flowers (jing hua yuan) since the late Qing Dynasty with discussions made on its literary theme and narratology. It is held that the novel should not be read from the belles-lettres perspective. Instead, it has its own special value in the history of Chinese literature. In respect to the vehement criticism that the novelist writes too much for the purpose of showing off, it is argued that his writing on people’s versatile talents can be interpreted as his own narrative strategy to put forward his ideal state of life. Therefore, such contents can serve as the “fable” to bridge the ancient and the modern times.
