清康熙中期至乾隆年间，竹刻艺术发展进入鼎盛时期。竹刻艺术领域涌现出一批技法创新、风格独特、个性鲜明的竹刻大师，其中周颢颇受推崇，特别是他所开创的“铁笔深刻绘画法”影响很大，他是继朱三松、吴之璠之后开创嘉定竹刻艺术新法之又一人。
The works of deep engraving method on plane surface and shallow relief carving by famous bamboo carver Zhou Ying of the Qing Dynasty find no parallel in previous periods. Zhou was indeed a master of bamboo carving art. The article gives an exhausting description of the works of Zhou Ying and his artistic style.
