作者对袁宏道的性情自适论中的三个概念"性灵"、"真"、"趣"进行了深入阐发,从而揭示其自然性灵论的本质,认为它是袁宏道士夫狂禅在文论领域的全面推衍及其一己性情自适的文学理论化表现,其旨趣只在支持本然性情的文学自适,因而具有本然性、非理性与反理性的鲜明特色。
