The principle of the Finite Difference Time Domain(FDTD) method id introduced, the propagation characteristic of EM wave in the inhomogeneous and multiplayer channel of communication system through the earth is calculated and simulated, and the reflection and transmission coefficients are obtained based on the different electric parameters in the channel The result is very important to design the system of communication through the earth it has shown that the FDTD method is a very effective way to solve the transmission problem in complex mediums
