摘要
香港大埔 自然保护区等地的森林中生活着多种白蚁,现发现2象白蚁类新种,正逢周尧教授在西北农业大学执教五十周年和喜庆七十七华诞,谨以周尧教授的姓氏分别命名为周氏钝象白蚁Ahmaditermes choui和周氏象白蚁Nasutitermes choui,表达我们的敬意和祝愿。
In the present paper, two new species belonging to the genus Ahmaditermes and Nasutitermes from Hong Kong are described. Their comparisons with close species are given as in the following.Ahmaditermes chow Ping et Tong and Nasutitermes choui Ping et Xu are named in honour of Prof.Chou Io,Chief Editor of Entomotaxonomia. With our wholehearted congratulations and best wishes for many happy returns, on the occasion of Prof. Chou Io's seventy-seven birthday.Ahmaditermes choui Ping et Tong, sp.nov.(Figs. 1-10)The soldier of this new species is closely related to A .sinuosus (Tsai et Chen), but differs from the latter as follow: 1) nasus downward,(vs.forward); 2) nasal hump indicated,(vs.disnet); 3) head capsule nearly without microscopic hairs,(vs.with scattered fine microscopic hairs); 4) nasus shorter or slightly longer than half the length of the head capsule,(vs.nasus distinctly more than half the length of the head capsule).Type locality: Hong Kong. Soldiers (holotype and paratypes) and workers from type-series (I.No.E 10128). Collected by Norman Tong,Apr.1,1988 in the tree (Tristania conferta).Nasutitermes choui Ping et Xu, sp.nov.(Figs.11-17)The soldier of this new species is closely related to N.parvonasutus (Shiraki) from Taiwan Prov. but differs from the latter as follow : 1) nasus thicker, somewhat cylindrical, (vs.slender, conical); 2) nasus distinctly shorter than the length of head capsule, (vs.nasus as long as or longer than the head capsule); 3) width of pronotum 0.48-0.56, (vs. less than 0.47); 4) tibia longer than the length of the head capsule, (vs.tibia as long as or shorter than the head capsule).The soldier may be distinguished from N.dudeoni Gao et Lam by latter species with smaller body size.Type locality: Hong Kong. Soldiers (holotype and paratypes) and workers from type-series (I.No.E 10225). Collected by Norman Tong, Jun.5,1988 in the tree (Tristania conferta).All measurements are in millimeter. All the type specimens are kept in the Guangdong Entomological Institute and a part of the paratype deposited separately in the Entomological Museum in the Northwestern Agricultural University.
