Though once fanatically involved in politics,Wordsworth was not an ambitious person who seeks earthly vanity. He chose nature to eulogize,so as to express his idealism of redeeming the sinner-man. Religiously speaking, this is rendered through his three metaphorical themes:nature, childhood and language, and is also reflected in two of his remarkable propositions, namely,“Each man is a memory to himself”and“The child is the father of man”. All this reveals the soul's journey of Wordsworth as a deistic Christian.
