Prose-poetry was a special lyric style of literature in China in the 20^(th) century. Its literal style had long been misunderstood by the neo-poets. Prose-poetry had nearly become the popular verse during the early period of Neo-Poetry and was therefore cherished by the Chinese neo-poets. It gave neo-poets too much freedom in style. Consequently, the neo-poets had developed a strong love for 'the prosaic beauty of poetry,' and thus there had appeared the longstanding disagreements between free style and grammatical rules in the development of Neo-Poetry. That was why the Neo-Poetry, despite the development for a century, failed to establish a relatively set style. Besides, it was not right to use 'prose-poetry' as the name of this lyric style.
