A new synthetic method of 3-amino-5-substituted phenylamino-6-phenyl-1,2,4-tria-
zines is reported in this paper. Benzoylthioformanilide was first condensed with aminoguani-
dine dihydrochloride in slightly acidic medium, then refluxed in alkaline medium (pH 8~9)
to give title compounds by the elimination of hydrogen sulfide. Nine 1,2,4-triazines were
synthesized by this reaction in good yields.
