Stable oil-in-water emulsions and miniemulsions are prepared by essentially spontanecus emulsification by using mixed surfactants systems Tween80/Sprn80, Tween80/Span60, and Tween80/Span80/triethanolamine/oleic acid at temperatures ranged 30—70℃.The effects of composition and HLB value or mixed emulsifiers, ratio of emulsifier to oil phase (liquid paraffin) , and temperature on the particle size and the 'maximum amonl of solubilizod water' of these emulsions ( i.e. the water content in the systems at the moment of transition from a blue opalescent solution to a milky white O/W emulsion when water is gradually added) are studied and discussed, and the conditions for miniemuisions to be formed are presented. The miniemulsions (and emulsions)prepared under these conditions with 5% emulsifier are very stable, the particle size (0.1—1.0μm) of both the original and diluted up to 100 times (the emulsifier concentration is as low as 0.05% in this case) miniemulsions are practically kept unchanged at long standing (up to 60—80 days) at ambient temperatures.
