This paper presented the research results of sonochemical decomposition of methylene blue in dilute aqueous solution.It was found that methylene blue can be decomposed with ultrasonic irradiation in aqueous solution.The sonochemical degradation kinetics of methylene blue in water is first order.The effects of initial concentratuioins,reaction temperature and pH of aqueous solution on the ultrasonic decomposition rate of methylene blue were studied and the influence of free radical accelerators such as Fe 2+ and I - on the sonochemical degradation rate of methylene blue were also investigated.
