摘要
Objective: To review the experience of surgical treatment o f infective endocarditis(IE). Methods: Open heart surgery on CPB was performed to clean the endocardial vegetation and valve replacement in 41 I E cases. Aortic valve replacements were performed in 11, mitral valve replacemen ts in 6, combined aortic and mitral valve replacements in 8, valvuloplasty of tr icuspid valve in 5, and tetralogy of Fallot in 3. Associated cardiac defects wer e managed simultaneously including patent ducts arterioles in 1,ventricular sept al defects in 5 and rupture of valsalvas sinus in 2. Results: There were no early operative mortality and morbidity. There was 1 recurrent IE and 1 late death. The other 39 patients show substantial improvement in function al perfomance and clinical status. Conclusion: Surgical interv ention is effective for IE. Early diagnosis and aggressive medical therapy are n ecessary combined with well-timed surgical therapy.
