In the light of her years of experience in teaching instrumental analysis theory and experiments, the writer discusses the relation between individual analytical instruments and the theory of instrumental analysis while emphasizing the importance of a consistent application of the 'comprehensive contrast' methodology in teaching from the perpectives of both theory and experiment.
