摘要
提出一种用于指纹图像压缩的矢量量化算法.该算法在对图像多级小波变换后,利用三个方向上各自小波系数之间的相关性,构造符合图像特征的跨频带矢量.并采用了基于人眼视觉特性的加权均方误差准则和基于成对最近邻算法的LBG算法进行矢量量化,提高了图像的编码效率和重构质量.仿真结果表明,该算法实现简单,在较低的编码率下,可达到较好的压缩效果.
A new fingerprint image compression algorithm,based on wavelet transform and vector quantization, is presented in this paper. First,wavelet transform decomposes the original image, then the correlation of the three directions' wavelet coefficients is used to construct the band-cross vector,at last the vector is quantized based on WMSE and LBG. Therefore, the high coding efficiency and reconstructed image quality are both obtained. Simulation shows that this method can be realized easily and compress the fingerprint image efficiently under very lower coding rate.
