摘要
当自然光通过一个偏振片时,振动方向上一部分的光被吸收,变为偏振光,其光矢量方向与偏振片的偏振化方向同向,且该偏振光的光强是原自然光强的一半。当该偏振光再次通过另一个偏振片时,其透光光强取决于两个偏振片的偏振化方向夹角,当这个夹角改变时,光强也在随之而变。我们在太阳镜中采用两层偏振化方向可调的偏振薄膜,即可作成变光强式太阳镜。
When the natural light passes through a piece of polaroid, it changes into polarized light whose intensity is half of original. When the polarized light passes through another a piece of polaroid, its intensity is decided by the angle of polarized direction of two blocks of polaroid. As the angle changes, the light intensity varies. So, if we use two block of superposed polaroid whose angle of polarized direction can be regulated easily as the eyeglass, a sunglass of changing light intensity can be produced.
