摘要
本文总结了在研究类星体空间密度演化(以光度函数形式来表示)方面的成果。近年来发现了一批Z>4的类星体,这些高红移类星体使人们对早期宇宙中的大尺度结构演化和星系形成的理论模型提出了新的观点。对于Z<2.2的类星体光度函数可以用简单的纯光度演化模型来描述。近年来对于高红移类星体的巡天结果表明,在高红移范围内,亮类星体(M_B<-26)的空间密度有明显的降低。
In this review we summarize what has been learned about the evolution of quasar space density (expressed in the form of luminosity function). A number of quasars with redshift Z>4 have been discovered in recent years, which provide important constraints to theoretical models for the large scale structure evolution of the universe and the formation of galaxies at early time. The evolution of luminosity function of quasars for Z<2.2 can be described in rather simple term, i. e. a pure luminosity evolution. The results of recent quasar survey at high redshift clearly demonstrate a marked decline in the space density of quasars brighter than MB= -2.6.
