摘要
形式主义语言学重要代表人物乔姆斯基与系统功能语言学创造人韩礼德在语言研究方法上存在的差异,极大地反映了当今语言学发展的两大趋势。旨在揭示对语言本质认识的不同是二者产生分歧的根本原因,并从语义、句法、语境等方面加以详细分析,以帮助读者对语言学的发展有一个新的认识。
Chomsky, as the most important figure in the school of formal linguistics, shows substantial difference in his theory of linguistic study with Halliday who established the school of Systematic Functional Grammar. This paper suggests that the differences between them are brought about by their views on the nature of language, which we would like to illustrate in relation to semantics, syntax and situation.
