Zhou Yunning, whose hometownis the Fuzhou city of Fujianprovince, was born in May 1945 inBurma and came back to China withhis father in July 1951. Since thenhe has devoted himself to the workof crop protection. He’s now thedeputy director of Shanxi Academyof Agriculture.During his 30 years of crop protection career, he has spent most ofhis time in the countryside to workat bilogicaL treatment fOr crops,making great contributions to the ecologic enviroment protection andnon - pollution production. He hasundertaken and has been in chargeof many important scientific researchprojects, 14 of which have beenhighly appraised. Besides, he haspresented to and published 26 academic papers at international conferences and on provincial periodicals, of which l8 theses have wonprizes.Zhou Yunning has made outstanding achievements in crop protection. For example, only four of histechniques including the techniqueof non - pollution vegetable cultivation, have produced economicbenifits of 170 million yuan RMB,hringing him many glorious titlesawarded by the Country and theProvi nce.
