This paper describes wireless local area network(WLAN) based on IEEE 802.11g draft standard, including its concept, background, attribute, component parts, architectural structure and its development prospect. The key technology and its dual frequency band multimode application necessary for the implementation of IEEE 802.11g WLAN are probed into. In addition, the network performance of IEEE 802.11g standard is analyzed.
