Charlotte Bronte s works focus on female problems. The vividness of her subjective narration, the intensely rebellious consciousness attract readers and critics great attention. However, in the society at that time, traditional concepts dominated images of women, and conventional ways of literature fettered women' s writing. Therefore, confined by the discourse of male-centered novels, inevitably, Bronte attempted to conceal her gender differences rather than expose them, at the cost of submerging her female awareness.
