Intranuclear inclusions surrounded by a double membrane have been described, for the first time, in the microspore of Cunntnghamia lanceolata. They are circular on the section and their gaps between two membranes are wider than the perinuclear space. The results from serial sectioning the inclusions indicate that they are spherical and do not connect with the nuclear envelope. Observing the section only stained with uranyl demonstrates that their content is chromatin. After the meiosis of microspore mother cell, the inclusions commonly were found in tetrad following the formation of nuclear envelopes. There were several inclusions in the nucleus of each initial microspore and they disappeared completely when the central vacuole has been formed in the microspore. This paper suggests that the intranclear inclusions surrounded by a double membrane are normal structures for the microspore development of Cunninghamia lanceolata and their formation is within nuclei, but it is not known whether other species exist this phenomenon.
