摘要
本文回顾十年来数据库技术的进展和主要成就,包括面向对象的和对象关系的数据库系统、多媒体数据的支持、并行数据库、Web数据集成与检索、三级存储器技术、数据仓库、数据挖掘、数据可视化技术。本文还讨论了影响数据库研究的三个重要趋势,即Internet/Web技术、程序逻辑和数据的统一管理技术、迅速发展的计算机硬件技术。最后,本文探讨了嵌入式数据库系统、未来的联邦数据库系统、未来数据库系统的体系结构、程序逻辑和数据统一管理技术、结构化和半结构化数据的集成技术等几个主要数据库研究新方向。
This paper surveys advances and achievement in database research in last ten years,including object oriented database systems,object-relational database systems,multimedia database systems, parallel database systems, Web data integration, Web information retrieval, tertiary memory systems, data warehouse, data mining, and data visualization. Three trends, Internet/Web technique, technique of uniformly managing program logic and data and advances of computer hardware, which have great influence on database technique, are discussed in the paper also. Finally,the paper probes into several new research directions of database, that are embed database systems, future federal database systems, architectures of future database systems, uniformly managing program logic and data,management of structured and semi-structured data,and so on.
