FABRICATION OF TRANSPARENT YAG CERAMICS BY A SOLID-STATE REACTION METHOD

摘要 研究了固相反应法制备钇铝石榴石(yttrium aluminum garnet,YAG)透明陶瓷的工艺。采用高纯Y_2O_3和Al_2O_3超微粉为原料,在1300℃煅烧2h,制备出YAG粉末。YAG相生成温度比常规温度大约低200℃。加入0.5%(质量分数)正硅酸乙酯烧结助剂后,YAG坯体在1700℃真空烧结5h,得到了高透光的YAG陶瓷,其在可见光区最大透光率为63%,在红外光区的透光率接近70%。YAG陶瓷具有均匀的微观结构,晶粒尺寸大约为10~30μm。 The synthesis of transparent YAG (yttrium aluminum garnet) ceramics by a solid-state reaction method is investigated. Taking high-purity ultra-fine powders of Y2O3 and Al2O3 as starting materials, YAG powder was prepared after calcining at 1300°C for 2 h. The transformation temperature of YAG phase in the process is 200°C lower than that of its conventional method. With the addition of 0.5% (in mass) tetraethyl orthosilicate as the sintering aid, fully transparent YAG ceramics were fabricated by vacuum sintering at 1700°C for 5 h, the optical transmittance of which reaches 63% in the visible light wavelengths and 70% in the infrared wavelengths. YAG ceramics obtained have uniform microstructure, and the grain size is about 10 to 30 μm.
