摘要
萨赫勒是世界上荒漠化最严重的地区。本文从该地带农牧业生产发展和变化的角度,分析了其荒漠化的机制和原因,并提出了防止荒漠化的一些原则。
Sahel is the most seriously desertized region in the world. From the viewpoint of the development and changes of agriculture and animal husbandry, the mechanism and causes of the desertification in the region are analysed in this paper. Owing to the economically rapid growth of some coastal countries of West Africa and the continued increase of the population in last decades in the whole West Africa, some changes in agriculture and livestock farming have been brought about in Sahel: (1) part commercialization of the traditional agriculture and animal husbandry; (2)widely spreading of dry farming into Sahel zone; (3) strenthening of the competition between the agricuture and animal husbandry; and (4) strenthening of herdsmen's unplanned settlement. These changes dramatically increased pressure to the weak environment of the region, bringing about serious desertification in it. Lastly, some principles for preventing desertification are advanced.
