英语教学的根本目的是运用这一交际工具 ,达到交际的效果。如果我们在外语教学中只强调对英语语言体系的学习 ,而不注重培养学生具备一定的跨文化语用能力 ,即使是外语成绩很优秀且流利程度很高的学生在使用英语与英语国家人士进行交流过程中 ,也会由于语用能力的低下而造成误解或谈话中断 ,致使交际失败而达不到预期的效果。因此 。
The basic aim of English teaching is to communicate with foreigners successfully in English. In foreign language teaching, if we only attach great importance to the learning of English linguistic system, but totally neglect the training of intercultural pragmatic competence of students, then,even the students with high marks and the students with fluent English will probably make intercultural communication a failure, because of their poor intercultural pragmatic competence.There fore, it is very necessary and meaningful to foster the intercultural pragmatic competence of students in foreign language teaching.
