Experimental study on quantitative assessment of fracture healing with bone mineral density determined by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry

摘要 目的 通过骨愈合过程中骨矿密度 (BMD)与力学性能间的动态变化来判断双能X线吸收骨密度测量仪 (DEXA)评估骨愈合进程的可行性。方法 将 3 0条犬造成右胫骨中段骨折并分离 4mm ,单边外固定支架固定。分别在术后 4、6、8、10、12周取双侧胫骨 ,测定BMD、弯曲刚度、扭转刚度及扭转强度 ,分析BMD与力学参数比率的关系。结果 DEXA测量骨折端 1cm区域的BMD比率与各项力学性能指标比率均有很好的线性回归关系 ,R2 分别为 0 .83 7、0 .82 4、0 .80 7。 Objective To explore the relationship between bone mineral density (BMD) and the biomechanical characteristics of healing bone and evaluate the feasibility of quantitative assessment of fracture healing with dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA).Methods In 30 beagles,a right midshaft tibial osteotomy was performed and was stabilized with a 4 mm gap using an external fixator.A group of 5 animals were euthanized at 4,6,8,10,12th week respectively after surgery.Both tibias were harvested and BMD were measured in a 1 cm region using DEXA.The bending stiffness,torsional stiffness and torsional strength were determined with biomechanical tests.Linear regressions were performed to analyze the correlation between BMD ratio and biomechanical parameter indexes.Results There were high correlation between BMD ratio and biomechanical parameter indexes (R 2=0.837,0.824,0.807 respectively).Conclusion BMD determined by DEXA is proved to be a successful indicator for the prediction of mechanical stability of healing bone.
