In order to study the cause of PCBN abnormal damage, cutting experiments have been carried out using home made and imported PCBN tools on CA6140 common lathe at three different tool loading highs. It is included that the tool loading high being higher or lower than the normal position will all cause more or less abnormal damage of PCBN tools during operation, through tool cutting stressing analysis of three tool loading highs.
