摘要
被誉为'世界屋脊'的青藏高原是一个非常独特的地貌单元。自上新世末至早更新世初以来,高原快速抬升对自然界和人类活动产生了巨大的影响。长期以来对世界屋脊的探索一直为科学界所瞩目。
The Qinghai-Xizang Plateau,known as'The Roof of the World',is the highest and largest structural landform unit on the earth.The upheaval of the Plateau is greatly influencial not only to the Plateau proper itself but also to the natural environment and human activities in the adjacent regions.Based on the achievements of studies of the Plateau,the following fundamental issues are dealt with in the paper:plate tectonics and uplifting of the Plateau,drastically environmental changes since late Cenozoic era,biota and its ecological adaptation,physical environment and its regional differentiation,utilization of natural resources,and environmental conservation.
