摘要
生物信息学是一门把计算应用到生物研究领域的技术和科学,这些生物研究领域包括:基因组学、蛋白质组学、遗传学和进化论。对生物信息学几个方面进行了明确的描述,并且从基因测序和生物芯片分析中引用了一些例子,从高技术数据的产生到生物学发现这一过程的各个方面阐述了生物信息学的重要作用。
Bioinformatics is an art and science concerned with the use of computing in biological research areas such as genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, genetics, and evolution. This review paints a broad picture of bioinformatics, drawing examples from genomic sequencing and microarray analysis. It highlights the role of bioinformatics at multiple points along the path from hightech data generation to biological discovery.
