摘要
准确地理解原文是翻译的前提。本文针对翻译中理解障碍问题 ,引用一些英汉、汉英翻译实例 ,从以下三个方面进行了对比研究 :1 语境与词义选择 ;2 中西思维方式与语言表达方式异同 ;3 文化差异与翻译。作者认为只有建立在此三个层面上的理解才能保证译文既忠实于原文又符合译语的表达习惯。
An accurate and thorough understanding of the original is the perrequisite in translation.This paper analyzes the causes of understanding errors in translation.Since there exist vast differences between English and Chinese,understanding errors in translation happen quite often from the following three aspects:①language context and choice of the meaning of words;②differences in ways of modes of thinking and expression between English and Chinese;③cultural difference and translation.Examples from Chinese_English or English_Chinese are included and discussed.The discussion leads to the conclusion that only with accurate and thorough understanding can we expect our translation to be faithful and idiomatic.
