摘要 科学计算可视化给工程师提供一个洞察产品性能的有效途径,但数据量的增加远远超过人们理解数据的能力。科学家观察数据和操纵数据都利用简化的环境和模型,大大约束了对产品和物理现象的观察。该文提出了一种结合虚拟现实技术、科学计算可视化和几何建模技术的创新可视化方法。将科学计算数据和真实感模型有机结合起来,利用虚拟现实技术,提供用户栩栩如生、身临其境、高交互的沉浸可视化环境。论文给出了系统详细构架,建立虚拟场景树以及构造可视化结果融入场景的流程,研究沉浸可视化的使能技术。最后在Powerwall系统上实现了系统原型,并应用在工程实践中。 Scientific visualization provides a very efficient way to have an insight into the performance of products. While our ability to simulate or use increasingly numerous and refined sensors to produce ever larger data sets outstrips our ability to understand the data. Computational scientists observe and manipulate datasets with simple model and environment so that the ability of insight into the physical phenomena and product performances are limited. In this paper we present a new visualization method for combining the VR, scientific visualization and realistic geometry technology. We are developing a visualization tool which incorporates virtual reality techniques of the interactive exploration of large scientific datasets. Meanwhile, the paper establishes the framework of system and lays out the pipeline of visualization with virtual scene tree. Finally, the paper studies the enabling technologies, presents prototype system based on Powerwall system and applies it into engineering.
