摘要
基于向列型液晶自聚焦现象制成激光功率限制器。在本文实验中,液晶膜厚为100μm、200μm、300μm,测得当1.06μm激光入射功率分别为~3.3kW、~2.7kW和~1.6kW时,因自聚焦而有部分光偏离原光路,到达探测系统的激光能量仅为入射能量的较小份额,从而使弱光探测器免遭强激光损伤。该功率限制器在强激光使液晶炭化条件下,仍能对探测器起到保护作用。
In this paper, the experimental results are reported on a new type of laser power-limiting device based on self-focusing in a nematic liquid crystal film. When the input laser power is stronger than the critical level, which are 3.3kW, 2.7kW, and~1.6kW with the liquid crystal film 100μm, 200μm and 300μm thick respectively in our experiment, a part of the laser beam will deviate from its original directions as a result of self-focusing, and the remainder part of the input laser energy reached at the detector will be the lesser, thus, the power-limiting device protect instruments for sensing low level power to avoid strong laser-damage. It is still effective when the incident power is so strong that the liquid crystal was burnt by laser.
