Commercial processes for manufacturing methylamines, C2~C5 alkylamines, and cyclohexylamines are reviewed with emphasis on technology developments that have occurred during the last fifteen years.New technologies which have been explored include zeolite-catalyzed methylamines processes, direct amination of isobutylene to produce t-butylamine, and catalytic distillation for production of butylamines and cyclohexylamine. Opportunities for further process improvements are discussed.
