摘要
大别山南麓晚第三纪为炎热潮湿的气候环境,酸性黄红壤土上生长着海南红豆、秋枫等被子植物。处在酸性垒的原植物次生木质部组织被二氧化硅替换而成硅化木。第四纪早期该地区转变为温凉干燥的气候环境,使这些热带植物不能繁衍而被针阔叶疏树草原所代替。
The climate at the southern foot of the Dabie Mountains was hot and humid during the Late Tertiary Period. The secondary xylem of the original plants in local acidic environment was replaced by silica and turned into fossil woods. The climate in the Early Pleistocene became cold and dry. The tropical plants could not multiply thus they were substituted by the coniferous and broad-leaf sparse forests grasslands in this area.
