This paper introduces the peculiarity of CAN field bus, the function and the structure of the CAN controller , the basic content of the communication protocol CAN2.0B in the instance of Philips′s SJA1000. Furthermore, it expounds a locomotive console system of train based on CAN field bus and its system function requisition, whole hardware structure, software framework and the application result. At the same time, it adduces the advantages of CAN field bus and a customary design process of industrial local control system based on CAN bus.
