The control efficacies of different dosages of Fumidil B, one of the aspergillic agent capable to suppress microbes, mixed in artificial diet of Asian corn borer Ostrinia jurnacalis (Guenee) against microsporidiosis infected by Nosema furnacalis were compared. The results showed that all the Fumidil B treatments, 453, 565 and 683μg/g in artificial diet, has significantly decreased the infection rates and intensities of the microsporidian. The infection rates of larvae and adults in first generation after treatments were 44.4% -61.1% and 41.7% -50.0% decreased, respectively, in comparison with those of the check (without Fumidil B treatment), and their infection intensities were decreased from level 4 and 3.6 (high infection) to less than level 1 (light infection) . In all the treatments, the larval survivals, pupation rates and adult fecundities were obviously higher than those of the check. There were no unfavorable affections on the growth and development of corn borer after Fumidil B treatment for three generations. The control effect on microsporidiosis was increased with the generation number treated with Fumidil B. Owing to that there were no significant differences among the three dosage treatments, 453μg/g, the lowest dosage in this study, was determined as the recommended dosage to keep microsporidiosis under control during mass rearing of larval O. furnacalis.
